Full Version: A Theory on Cryptids

Mad Hatter
I have come to the conclusion that all of these cryptids people spot/sight/allegedly see are the workings of a secret organization that clones/creates new species of animals. And while this may seem futuristic, I still say it can happen. My favorite horror film is The Fly (both the 1958 and 1989 versions). I was thinking that if there is such an organization out here, that they could combine several animals/humanoids together.

1). Most of the sightings of cryptids combine several animals, such as Man-Bat, the Jersey Devil, El Chupacabra

2). The cryptids seem "out of the ordinary" or "resemble, but not real animals" that have an "eerie feeling"

3). We have no idea of their exact origins

4). And while there are a lot of eyewitness accounts, no one ever seems to get a decent photograph

And these "eyewitnesses" could be working for this secret organizaztion, hence the always blurry photos. Either that, or the cryptids come from another dimension.

I am not so sure of that, studying zoology has made me think they are just undiscovered species.

'The hell? The chupacabra just looks like a big lizard.
Plus, look at the platypus. It wasn't created by some evil organization bent on world domination.
Congrats on making me laugh.

Coming from another Zoobie, I think that, although it is an interesting concept, it's a wee bit fancyfull. I don't quite think it's possible to combine DNA in such a way as to create compatable building blocks for some sort of superbeast. You'd end up with a big mess of random genetic material. We've mapped very few geneomes to 100%, humans included in the list (IIRC), but you need a bit more than that.

Plus it would take bloody ages to join it all up! wink2.gif
