Could be peices from an airplane? I don't know what they are but they look like they were tightened onto something giving the tiny rigs and the holes in the centers of them.

the discs in the picture are sanding-discs, I use the same at work. I can't believe anyone will fall for that huh.gif

this is an example of such discs, but the ones in the picture are "click on" and not velcro like the one in my example. the ones in the picture are also for a small sanding machine

The sanding disc and the disc in the photos are not the same. look at the size of the discs compared to the Quarter, they may be man made but they are not sanding discs,

Like I said, the discs in the picture are for SMALL sanding discs, and the center of it is also different because its a "click on" instead of a velcro. I will post a picture of the discs on my work or if you cant wait just google "3M sanding discs".

Thes are 3M Abrasive Disks and none of them are the same as in the photo. Infact what is seen in the photo only has a slight resemblance to the 3M disks you speak of. I do think these probably are sanding disks of somesort etc.

Well you said google 3M disks and I did and I never found an identical one although the on in the pic could simply be worn down etc. Still though you should post a pic of you disks from work.

Yea those look quite familiar and seems odd that they would just drop from the sky otherwise, but i cannot disclude it as impossible. Either way seems intresting but why such a low resolution picture, maybe to hide the true item it is? I go with anonymous007's view on it as just being a sanding disk, it does seem very familiar, and with those holes in it to put in place. Otherwise is it an aliens doller coin? What is it made of , and why the heck would someone take a photo , give them out to friends, and tell people he cant give it out to anyone else? Suspicious indeed, i would expect the first thing to do would be test, then post pics lol.

My first thought was that they looked like a token of some kind, like a subway token.

Although i have seen sinilar types of metal discs before, but i cant rember where,
we could be on the right track with sanders maybe they are the metals pieces that hold the sander in place hence the 4 holes on every piece.
But it still leaves the question of a hoax or why were they falling from the sky.

when you don't attach those discs properly on an air-powered sanding machine, the discs shoot away with an amazing speed, maybe an idea? w00t.gif
or second idea: that guy just thought he could fool some people with his discs and just made up the story

Wow - here we are again - with some metal. Again here is what seems - based on the available evidence was NOT done:

1st: This report is just under 4 years old:
.......... July 2nd, or 3rd, 2003.

2nd: Then it is 'reported':
.......... Sun, 18 Jan 2004

3rd: Here it is Feb. 2007.

Why is there always yearS lag between stories, reports and photos?? The longer the period of time - the harder it is to validate any claim. disgust.gif

3rd:
They claim they sent them out to be analyzed.
But it would seem to me they should of first went to local machine shops to see if they could be identified.

There is a good reason some might of not given them back. Insurance claims and legal action. If indeed this was from a unsecured load - be it ground or air. If an injury or property damage was possible - COLLECT THE EVIDENCE! Poof, now prove it.

I agree they look like sanding disks. My first impression though is that they look a bit like flanges.

Whatever they are they do not look "otherworldly" in any way.

Their not even the same thing! What you posted doesn't look anything like the first discs.
DevilDog1985
again, READ it, I said that the discs in the photo are for a SMALL sanding machine with a click on system, want me to spell it for you rolleyes.gif
