As promised ages ago, here's another road ghost story. I think it's the samr one that Agent 21 meant?

One spring evening in May 1995, three young lads set off from Cheshire in a Ford Transit van to a secret all-night ‘rave’ over the Welsh border. The driver was 18-year-old Damon, and his two friends were Aaron and Daniel, both 17. as they were leaving Cheshire, the lads were surprised to see a young girl standing on the side of the road. Damon pulled over and Aaron leaned out of the window to ask if she was ok, and did she need a ride home. The girl was dressed in a long white dress, and just nodded. She walked over to the door of the van and climbed in. They noticed that she was barefoot. Daniel vacated the front seat and climbed into the back of the van so the girl could sit down. The boys were puzzled by the girls’ odd dress and strange behaviour, and asked where she wanted to go.
“Buckley” she replied.
Damon asked if she lived there but she turned away and looked through the window. The boys began to suspect that she was high on drugs and thought she was perhaps a New Age traveller who had got lost. They introduced themselves and asked her name. She said her name was Hattie.
“So what music do you like, Hattie?” Aaron asked
“The Beatles”
“Oh they were cool…..what about The Prodigy?” Aaron queried……
“Who?” Hattie asked…….she’d obviously never heard of them.
Aaron then decided to chat the girl up. He noticed that she had a large Onyx ring on her finger. He commented on the ring and tried to hold the girls’ hand, and was shocked to feel that her hand was deathly cold. The girl then demanded to be let out and began to scrabble at the door. Damon pulled over quickly and the girl jumped out and walked towards the rear of the van. Daniel glanced out of the back of the van but the girl seemed to have disappeared. There was no sign on her. Damon checked his wing mirrors and Aaron jumped out to see if she was hiding. She was nowhere to be found. A little spooked, the three scallies resumed their journey nervously speculating as to where Hattie had gone. As they drove along the A550 near Queensferry, Damon let out a yell. Daniel and Aaron looked through the windscreen, wondering what Damon was screaming for. But his eyes were fixed on the rear-view mirror. The two boys turned their heads and looked behind them. Hatties’ pale face was pressed up against the glass of the rear windows, her long fair hair streaming out behind her. It was as if she was clinging to the van like some out-sized insect. In is terror, Damon accelerated and tried desperately to shake the pallid-faced thing off. Another car came along side the van, and the passenger gasped in horror at something at the back of the boys’ van……she had obviously seen it too. The Volvo then screamed past and sped up the motorway. The boys panicked and Damon kept his foot down in a desperate bid to get away. The face suddenly vanished, and Daniel and Aaron scanned the road behind in case Hattie had fallen. Nothing was there. They were now terrified. What if ‘it’ was on top of the van? What if ‘it’ tried to get inside? The rave was now a million miles from their minds and the boys decided to turn back and race home.
Since coming forward with this story, other people have also admitted seeing a bare-foot girl in white along the A550 near Shotwick in the early hours. Even the police have seen her. Who she is/was is still a mystery.

*sigh*

Blimey...that is very similar to Rachel's story, about the bridesmaid. I take it ghostly hitch-hikers are persistant beggars?

Is there no indication of who the girl might be? Surely there must be some idea as to which girls have gone missing in the area, over the years.

And, Hams, if you're ill, sweety... *with stern voice* ...get back to bed! wink2.gif
