This animal is fantastic....saw it on David Attenborough the other night and had to find some video to show....It's beautiful ,Scary and mesmerising to look at .....It looks like it came straight off the drawing board of a special effects designer....but it's realllllllll

A sunken ship, they provide great habitat for marine life.

By the way, this is a Vampire Squid, not octopus. But they're amazing animals.

bleh.. just the whole way they filmed it.. just comes off as fake. Then again, we are only getting a clip, so it might have been set up that way to make it seem horror filmish.

It's not fake beleive me...thats why i said it looks like it came off a special effects drawing board.....You should see the way they filmed it on Attenboroughs show (The Blue Planet)...it looked even more surreal and scary..
I think anyone filming one of these is going to put it into a Horror movie context...because of the way it looks.

You're right. That's absolutely the most repulsive animal I've ever seen. That part of the video where the creature first starts to turn inside out and you see a close-up of it's eye-- blech! It looked like something from "Alien" or "The Thing".

Just remember, to its mother, it was beautiful.

these animals are awsome I couldnt view the video but I was interested in the name so I looked it up the latin name is Vampyroteuthis infernalis It litterally means vampire squid from hell.
