It seems like there have been a lot of UFO sightings lately. Am I just noticing it more because I read this forum everyday and I didn't used to? How about those of you who read this forum everyday and have been for a long time? Have there been more UFO sighting in the mainstream media in the last couple weeks? Seems like ever since the O Hare airport incident there have been a lot of frequent UFO sightings.

I'd agree what I've seen mentioned in local medias around the world it's been pretty active.
But not on main stream media so much. More the aggrigaters like drudgereport and others have had an active spate lately culling from the local medias... imo
wondered if some of it wasn't from the Chinese spaceweaponstest collisions and fallout. but still... it's not just here on UM.

Edited.
On any given day, you are likely to find a bunch of sightings reported to online tracking databases. What's different now is there are more mainstream media reports. Sometimes the media picks up on a type of story (shark attacks, child abductions) and makes it appear that the problem is getting worse when it's actually decreasing.
Anyway, there have always been UFO 'flaps'-- periods with alot of activity and mainstream attention followed by lull periods when the subject is more underground.

I agree, I only watch Fox News, CNN, and MSNBC........and in the past few weeks after the Chicago airport I have seen other reports regarding North Carolina, Hawai, and Then FOX news just had a special on Atlantis wich was non stop with Extra Terestrial / UFO theorys......I'm just not use to seeing this much expose on the subject..at least not on these channels...............I admit The History Channel has "The UFO Files" every sunday wich i always found odd...But yeah it's incresing.

I have to admit I thought exactly the same thing the other day, I come from England and there have been quite a few more reports in newspapers etc, either they were always there (the UFOs) and people just never reported them or there really is an increase.
(Either that or some supersonic airplane has been invented and none of us know about it yet lol).

Yeah the sightings are picking up I mean sure most of the reports can be explained away. The number of UFO stories that cant be explained is on the rise not because most UFO stories are beliveable now its because theres most of them.

The increase in sighting can be secret US aircraft doing missions seeing that they are at war right now. They have used mainstream media before to cover there activity in the passed and if it worked then then why not now. On the other hand They who ever "they" are, are watching man as we head in to a time on the planet where we might not come out of and be here just to watch a lower life form come to its end or struggle through there evolution to see where we end up. Ooooor a little of both. Just my thoughts.

I would say that I've seen increased publicizing of UFOs, that could simply be due to the
media warming up to the phenomena somewhat. I think looking into a ufo report database
would be the only objective way to see if 'sightings' have been on the rise rather than
sightings that are reported.

There has ALWAYS been lots of UFO sightings all over the world through history. That only means that the observer cant identify an areal phenomena. Nothing to prove that they have anything to do with aliens from other planets though. No matter how much we all want to believe.
If this was a discussion about possibilities concerning extra-terrestrial life, it would be interesting, but the mistake made is the assumption that ETs exist, and in fact are here.

This wasnt meant to be about whether UFO's/Aliens exist, or if the government is covering them up. We have a lot of threads about that already. I just wanted to see if anyone else noticed that there have been more mainstream-ish UFO encounters than I've ever seen before. But if I was 100 I probably wouldn't be saying that, is what I gather from some of the UM veterans. Now, in regards to UFO tracking websites, what are some good ones for me to watch? I go to this one Bigfoot site that rules, they have all the bigfoot sightings in a huge database.

BFRO NetNice link I havent been there in a long time there is some good stuff there to ponder and I'd love to get my hands on the full patterson film and study it real close. here is a picture I came up with while playing with photoshop. As to the question on more shightings then yes there seems to be more mainstream coverage . The question is why and why now.

I think they might be ready to show us or there technology just became affordiable on there planet for more people to take the flight. It may be true I mean they might use money and everything and just now are getting the technology to fly millions of light years. Then agin no one knows how long it took they could live for millions of years and spend most of there life travaling and the others are just arriving.

I don't think there has been anymore UFO report's then what we have each year, It may appear to be that way, But with the net and mass media we are just more exposed now i think....

I think you'll find that there were a lot more sightings at around the time 'The X-Files' was being televised. (as you would expect )
