hello my fellow UM members,

I just wanted to warn you about the new thing going around called lock bumping. Anyone doing this on bad intentions... shame on you and hope you go to jail.

I don't want people to learn how to do this, but I should so that you caneach test it out on your locks and decide if you should get a new lock. The "MEDECO" locks can not be bumped.

it should be known by all that locks are only to keep honest people honest. If someone Wants to break in, they will, no matter what kind of security you have.

Yeah, true. It's just that they keep finding easier ways of entering.

yeah, but try purchassing it. That's the issue. try buying it and see what type of info the will ask you for. Like, company name, locksmith certificate. The cheaper ones can be found anywhere but will break upon too much tension.

How do I know? I am the certified locksmith for my company.

basically lock bumping is similar to what my lock pick kit does. Basically, you're just lining up all the tumblers.

ever played with a garage door opener? can do lots of... interesting... things with them too.

Thanks NME locus that's good to know. Yea if they want to get in bad enough they will but doing some thing like lock bumping would be much more quiter then say breaking a window.

yup, there sure is. It is possible to scan for someone's frequency band while they are opening the garage door.

Funny thing, as an option, on my car, I have a built in garage door remoter in the visor, and all I have to do to get it in sync and work with my garage door is pull up close, hit the garage door button itself, and then press and hold the button in my car to sync them together.

Lol, when I saw the title of this I thought it had something to do with people bumping topics, and you thought it was a horrible crime. For the first two lines, I still thought it had to do something with UM.

But, I never knew about this. Why do people have to do stuff like this?
Tooth_and_Claw
wow it looks so easy

might aswell try it on my house see what happens

Please try it so you can change locks if need be. Best lock are the ones that are double side... meaning both sides key has teeth. These teeth are what hits the tumblers to unlock. Double sided means it will require 2 lock pick kits are required and in addition, an extra hand would be required to apply the tension by twisting. this would take 5 hands working at once, which is hard in itself just trying to huddle that many hands around one little keyhole.

NME_locus I realise that you had good intentions in starting that thread, but the rules of this site forbid the description of any illegal activity, and a video showing how to break into a house certainly falls foul of that rule.
