Ok.. I believe in spirits and the supernatural. But orbs? NO. Orbs are the most useless piece of trash since RODS. I'm sorry, but I have yet to be impressed by people who find creedance to some dust covering a lens or floating around and brought out by a flash.

... oh wait.. one time I was impressed. I was on one of the haunted sites and saw the most amazing evidence of orbs I have yet seen. They kept a night camera on this closet and you could see this orb moving inside and out of it. That did freak me out.

I guess its just that most of the pictures of orbs can be explained away as dust mites or whatever. I am a photographer myself and if I don't clean my lens good at every shoot I get them or if I use a flash at night I will sometimes see them if I am in a dirty room or place.

... maybe I'm just an old fogy, but I need more.

... more on Rods too.. but that is for next post

Let me hear what you have to say about orbs. Make me believe! thumbsup.gif

I'm fairly certain I saw the reflection of an orb as it travelled across my bedroom.
The account's below:

QUOTE
...Another time, while looking out of the window of my room at night, with the room behind me reflected in the glass, I saw a small orb. The small orb was white, the size of a marble, and moved swiftly, but steadily, at head height across the room. It wasn't a light from outside, because it passed behind me.

As for most `orbs' caught on film, I'm very doubtful. Someone, somewhere probably has captured one on film. It'll be hard to tell though, with all those false ones out there.

I was in a documented haunted house here about 2 1/2 weeks ago. There were a couple of neat things that happened in the house, but overall the house was pretty empty. Till I got to a closet where it was told to me afterwards that the ghost children hide there. As soon as I stuck my videocam in the closet the battery time went from 65 mins to 22 mins and the orbs I got are really neat. To the naked eye I didn't see much but my camera picked all that I wasn't able to. It wasn't dusty, and these orbs flew around like little bugs, except it was a little light and not anything with wings. Like a knat or something. Then one of the children was, I don't know how to explain it very well, but she was like leaning on my arm? Like the air was heavier and I could feel her all around the left side of my body. It was truly a sobering experience to know that life comes in all forms. I'm just trying to find a program that will take the frames per second that my new camera puts out. I got depressed over buying and returning all these stupid programs, that I haven't even bothered lately. sad.gif
The orbs fly in and out of my viewcam window, like dancing, little fairies.
After I turned around and left the closet area my videocam returned to 78 mins of battery. Definately something going on. I would go back and the battery life would go down, come out and it would go back up. It was really neat!

Klamath, what can I say...that's worthy of a thread of it's own! thumbsup.gif What house is this?

That's fascinating that you said you could feel the entity/little girl holding you...I felt the same thing in my bizarre sleep paralysis experience. Was it like a pressure?

And then the dancing lights in the cupboard, and the batteries going wiggy on the camera. Incredible stuff.

Despite what I said about orbs on camera before, I think moving images of orbs are better to study, and perhaps should be considered different to the orbs in stills.

If you were to post this as a new thread, would you be willing to go into more detail? It really is a fascinating account. And we're all lovely here. Honest. original.gif

Orbs...........?

Hmmmmmm - I'm a classic ditherer about orbs. I think the vast majority are dust/pollen/insects etc etc, and blimmin' over-senstive digital cameras! Even the man who termed the phrase 'orbs' now believes them to be flim-flam.

However.......... *cringe* ....... I have seen some orbs captured on ordinary 35mm film that look very strange. Whislt 'investigating' a crop circle (and kakking myself in case we got shot by an irate farmer) my friend captured some astounding bright blue orbs on his ancient 35mm camera. I think that these were some kind of earth-energy - rather like 'spook lights'. And, on the last investigation, the orbs captured near the 'active' spots on the staircase looked like little plasma balls.
So I am dithering once again on my perch on this 'ere fence grin2.gif

orbs..... hmmmmm....

Have a look at the thread on the multimedia group http://www.unexplained-mysteries.com/forum...?showtopic=4786 to see what I think of orbs, in particular ones taken with digital cameras.

Like you alienmojo I'm a bit of a photographer myself so I tend to be very skeptical of orb photos, particularly ones take with digital and ultra compact cameras. I guess 99.9% of them can be explained. It's the 0.1% that can't be explained that interest me.

99.99% of Orbs are just small particals reflecting flashs. I have so many photos with Orbs in them so i was astonished when a couple of years ago people were pointing to them as evidence of ghostly activity - smacks of clutching at straws to me.

There may be the odd occurance of actual ghostly orbs, but i must admit that if that is the case i agree they are some sort of energy as opposed to a soul etc.

Rods? don't get me started on that one - does anyone still believe in them anymore? Such an obvious fake.
kreestar
I agree that most orbs are just dust. However we have one picture. Its of my aunt at a wedding. Her son died in a car crash, the orb is really big and bright.

Its in my personal photo thing.

Orbs, or "Will o' the Wisps", can frequently be SEEN and not just photographed. Scientists like to explain it as "ball lightning"...

i have touched on my own personal orb story in another post..
and i do get them a lot on my pics of haunted areas.. i have to say im
pretty sure a lot of mine are supernatural.

Yeah.. i read that the man who coined the phrase orb.. was now poo pooing them..
but he didnt invent them! lol grin2.gif

The trouble is there are two different things with the same name.
