32 years old.
Sculptor and modelmaker by trade.
Own a small independent film company.
Write, direct and edit in said company.
Born in RI, moved to Cali for a while and am now back in RI.
No kids but my dog Wanda. No wife.
Read everything I touch. Watch film constantly. Enjoy wasting time on my PS3 and endless all night drunken arguments, I mean discussions, with my friends. Pretty much constantly involved in some type of film or theatre production.

This is starting to feel like a personal ad, so I'm done now.

I am so NOT surprised by this brief, yet somehow complete bio/credentials.
Well said Cap. It does seem like the " UM dating thread" sometimes, doesn't it?

Hi all

My name is Lex, i am 27 years old and i live in the south east of England.

i work as a support engineer for a small software house in Kent though i may well be changing jobs soon.

I am one of these people that needs to be busy doing things constructive to better myself, the people around or occasionally those i dont know.

I tend to spend about 4 hours a week at the gym, about 4 hours a week doing Tiger-Crane Shaolin Kung Fu and the rest of the time i am working on my website which is dedicated to dragons, or playing guitar, or down the pub with my mates or most specially, spending time with my girlfriend.

I also like to occasionally go cycling, snowboard, go on holidays and i am currently learning to make dynamic content with websites using asp.net

Ever since i was a lad i have had a passionate interest in dragons, the mythology surrounding them and the affects on culture said mythology has. I had to have a large scale operation which put me out of action for nearly two years and in that time, being someone who cant do nothing, i decided to teach myself HTML, PHP, SQL and javascript to make my site affectively putting my passion to paper (though in this case a website)

Thats pretty much me in a nutshell

On a final note, there are some incredibly interesting people here. My compliments to Saruman and his team for creating such a powerful and diverse community. I am in awe!

Hello All!

I am new to this forum, so I'll tell a little bit about myself.

I am almost 40 (May 16) and I can't wait! My birthday is on a Friday night this year. I think my mom and dad planned it that way. original.gif

I am married (10 years) with 2 awesome kids. My son is 15 and my daughter is 8.
My husband is a Financial Advisor and just opened his own business.
I also have 3 kitty kats and 2 hamsters. Several rabbits and birds reside in my backyard, but I don't know their names. he he

I grew up in a very small town and had only 48 kids in my Senior class.
After High School I had a travelling sales job and travelled all over the USA for 5 years. I've been to every state except for Montana and every major city in between. I love the song 'Heart of Rock 'n Roll' by Huey Lewis and the News because I've been in every city in the song. Yee Haw
I am a hairdresser (13 years) and have a salon in my basement now.
I'm also a karaoke DJ on the weekends at my cousin's bar. That is a blast. If I have enough beers I sound just like Tanya Tucker (I think wink2.gif )

I've always been into the paranormal. I've always had a bit of a sixth sense and thought it was just completely normal. I quickly found out that it was not the norm, so I kept it to myself. A near death experience about 9 years ago brought it all out again. I still keep it to myself and am freaked out when a spirit tries to invade my space.

I love camping and just plain having fun. I love to tell jokes (the dirtier the better) and embarass my kids (and my hubby). I can talk just like Marge Simpson, Butters from South Park, Harrry Carey and many more. My son just loves it when I do that in front of his friends. NOT! My daughter encourages me to do it in front of her friends---just wait about 6 or 7 years though! wink2.gif

Life is for living and I try to do just that every day. Positive attracts postive , so I try to be positive all the time. No matter how black or grey the cloud is, there is ALWAYS a silver lining in it somewhere. You just have to look at it from the right angle.

I've had 3 best friends for 23 years and love to get together with them for margaritas and Bud Lights.

I am very close with my brother and sisters also, and we all love to sing together. My sisters and I can do an awesome rendition of 'Midnight Train To Georgia' by Gladys Knight and the Pips. It is so much fun. My brother can sound just like Tone Loc on 'Funky Cold Medina'. It is such a riot.

Well, that's about all I can think of now. I will leave you all with these very wise words: IF YOU ARE GREEN YOU WILL GROW. IF YOU ARE RIPE YOU WILL ROT!!!!! Stay green everyone! wink2.gif
667-Neighbor of the Beast
Wow, never even knew this topic existed. So, I guess it's my turn.

The name I mostly go by is Big K. Just a nickname that has stuck with me since 7th grade.
I am 33, engaged, with 1 child (about 3 weeks old at the time this was written)
Born and raised in a small town in Ohio. Still live in Ohio now, with my beatuful fiance and son.
I went to school for engineering, but have worked in many different fields over the years.
I've worked as everything from a bouncer, to a roady for heavy metal bands, to IT manager. I currently work as a tradeshow coordinator for an internationally owned comany, but will soon be taking a job as a Data Center Manager.
I'm a big guy (6'3", 240 lbs) and work out alot. I spent many years studying 3 different styles of martial arts(Shorin Ryu, Gen Wa Kai, Khali Silat).
My biggest hobby is special effects. I've worked at haunted houses since I was 9, and have always made my own costumes, masks, props, lighting, sound effects, etc. I ran my own haunted house for 2 years, and both years was voted best in the area.
I've done work on several films, and even made a few on screen appearances, but would rather stick to the FX. I've also won awards for my masks/costumes.
My other main hobby is ghost hunting. I am the tech manager for one of the branches of the TAPS family. I'm kind of a skeptical beleiver when it comes to pretty much anything paranormal. I believe things could exist, but will be convinced once I see if for myself.
I am working on becoming a member of Mensa. I almost aced the practice test I took for membership. It rated me as having an IQ of 159. Not sure how accurate that is though. I've always been in the "gifted" classes, but 159 seems a little high to me. An iq of 130 is needed for membership.
I'm a firm believer in brains over brawn, but it never hurts to have brawn as a backup too. wink2.gif
I've always had an knack for electronics, and am working on some new "ghost hunting" gadgets. I just don't think anything that exists today is quite what is needed to do the job.

I'm a laid back, easy going person, with a good sense of humor. However, I have ZERO tolerance for rudeness. I've seen too many people in all my years of bouncing get into way too much trouble because they could not conduct themselves in an adult manner. Luckily, as the bouncer, I got to bounce those people right out the door. And I always loved the 5'4" drunk guys who thought they could take on a 6'3" 240lb martial artist who is sober. I have no respect for people who cannot control themselves.

I like mostly hard rock/heavy metal music, but pretty much love all types of music. Anthing from classical, to bluegrass.
I have traveled all over the world, for business, learning, and vacation. The only place that I have not been that I really want to see is Australia. Love the culture, people, and scenery. I've stayed mostly in Europe, for several months at a time, several times.

With the birth of my son just a few weeks ago, I can honestly say now that my life is complete. I had set many life goals for myself at a young age, and achieved all of them before 30. Mostly these included movie/FX goals, and world travel. Now, with my son being born, the last piece of the puzzle of my life has fallen into place. now that mine is complete, I can dedicate my time to helping him put his together.

Hey er'body!

I'm new, I'm 18 an ima dude, I've always loved the paranormal. The mothman is probably my favorite monster. I'm friendly and always looking for interesting people to talk to, on here or MSN, or something. I've had a few strange things happen to me, but nothing way too insane. I'm a skeptic, but that doesn't mean I won't believe you. wink2.gif

Worked building power line towers all over for several years, weld, machine, operated heavy equip. etc. now drive truck.

Have seen UFO up close but was not able to see craft itself as it was shrouded in an electromagnetic plasma field.

27 year old male (turning 28 in August), married, and have two kids (two girls, ages 5 and 4) who are both Mexican on their mom's side. We live in Detroit...well, the burbs anyway. tongue.gif

I usually browse but don't post in the topics that deal with paranormal stuff because I've always had a very hard time expressing my opinions "in real life" and even online, due to the fact I've always been a painfully shy person. In fact, I was depressed often as a kid and suffered from social anxiety disorder.

Dropped out of HS because of the disorder and depression but later got my diploma.

I'm interested in the paranormal and have never really known why, as I've had no experiences or anything of that nature. It was just something that always intrigued me, ever since I was a kid. I will admit that I am a softy for Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster. tongue.gif

I am really interested in Buddhism. The concept of reincarnation fascinates me and I also, like a lot of people, like to think about what happens to us after we die.

The best way to get me to open up is probably through sports. That's one of my passions. original.gif

I'm 26 and working as a receptionist in the Boston area. I have a BA in Creative Writing from FSU and an MFA in Writing For Young People from Lesley University. I'm a native Floridian, originally from the Orlando area. I love gymnastics. When the Olympics rolls around, if anyone has any questions please ask! I'll be more than happy to explain the new scoring system (where if you get a 10.00 - that's a really awful score!), and anything else. I'm also into the arts. I write, I make collages and draw, I'm a classically trained vocalist and a self taught pianist. I've also acted in several independent short films. I'm kind of a free spirit, and I go wherever the wind blows.
I've always been fascinated by the paranormal and underbelly of society. I grew up near a spiritualist camp called Casadaga, and my mother would take me there frequently to speak with psychics and mediums. As a child, I was very in tune with the spirit world, and had a few experiences. As an adult, I can feel the presence of spirits, but I am well protected by strong spirit guides, including my great grandmother, who was Native American.
I love murder mysteries. My first novel, which is almost completed (I have a full draft - am still doing some slight revising), is a mystery for children.

Thanks to the last few posters.
As a reminder, I think it's a good idea to post a link in your signature, to your post about yourself. Like I said, it's just a way to get to know some of our regular posters, and maybe put a little more stock in some folks opinions based on their "resume" if you will.
Just a few thoughts.
supervike
Hmm. I'm not quite as exciting as most of the folks here.

I'm a middle child, living in middle america, rapidly approaching middle age. I'm not particularly well travelled.

My intelligence is average (ahem, some may think average is a bit lofty for me...)

I don't know what I believe. There are days I believe in nothing. I also know the answers aren't here, but it's fun to look.

I'm usually more skeptical than not. Would love to see something paranormal actually proved, but am realistic enough to know it may not ever happen.

Intensely curious, painfully shy, loyal to a fault.

Oh, I'll go.

I'm male, and will be 30 in a few weeks. Not partnered up, nor do I have any kids. I do have a slightly stinky, very drooly basset hound, though.

I grew up in North Carolina, and hated it. I left home when I was 18 and haven't been back for more than a few days.

I got my ABs (three of them-- English Literature and Composition, Art History and Appreciation and Dramatic Art) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, my MA in Theatre History and Criticism from Hunter College, Manhattan and my PhD in Theatre History from the University of Washington. I work now as a lecturer in Theatre History, and as a director, dramaturg and playwright. I run a small Off-Broadway theatre company. My area of specialisation is English Renaissance plays, usually non-Shakespearean, and have published several academic articles on the intersection of that period drama and Queer Studies.

But for most of my 20s, in between my ABs and the other degrees, I lived in the UK running around after some scummy (and lots more not-very-scummy-at-all) indie musicians. I lived in London and Glasgow, writing songs and playing instruments for any bands what needed it, writing freelance music reviews and acting as a scout for US labels, and sleeping with any musician I could get a look from.

Right now, I'm writing a play that's a musical adaptation of Marlowe's Edward II, featuring the music of Franz Ferdinand, which is the first project that's ever sort of combined the theatre-y stuff and the music-y stuff I do.

Wow. That's quite a background. You've managed to live an interesting life.

I love this kind of reply, because it really gives a sense of who you are, and could easily explain your responses or reactions to the topics you reply to and get involved with. Well done Jay. thumbsup.gif

Erm, well I don't quite know what to say so this is what I've got off the top of my head.

I AM..

- 20 years young, born in MA but raised in MI.
- of Scottish and English descent.. UK all the way!
- an ex drug addict but got the slap in the face I needed once moving to ME to live with my dysfunctional family.. think Celtic Jerry Springer.
- a recovering bulimic/anorexic though still struggling off and on.
- a motherless daughter (as of 2003).. died of a heart attack very suddenly.
- a high school graduate, technically a drop-out after missing 90+ days junior year but took night classes, raced ahead of the rest of my peers and graduated a semester earlier than them.
- a molestation & rape victim though I'd like to think I persevered, albeit having a few abandonment and sexual issues.
- potentially furthering education in psychology and writing.
- in love with love, my cats, my friends and my family.
- currently taken by a Jake Gyllenhaal clone, though with the way I go through boys there's no telling how long this will last sad.gif
- considered disturbing yet addicting according to close friends (I find this to be the most fitting description thus far).
- interested in many things, including but not limited to: WWE, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Veronica Mars, Edie Sedgwick, Egyptian mythology, music, writing, alternative lifestyles, modeling and of course the unexplained.
- fueled by my emotions rather than "normal" human logic.. some consider me to be quite the handful and I'd have to agree.
- fairly in tune to the paranormal and believe that I've had numerous experiences with it.
- thinking that if you want to know more you can easily PM me thumbsup.gif

Well:

- I am 32 years old, born and raised in winston-salem NC. It is a small comfortable place.

- I have traveled as far north as NY, south FL Keys, west KY. I have never been out
of the USA, though I would like to travel to Ireland someday.

- I am of Irish, Cherokee, Canadian descent.

- I never completed school, went back and got my GED in 93.

- I started out building furniture for Heilig Meyers; I done that for about 3 years. Then I got
into restoring partially burned homes, apartments, commercial buildings etc. for about 1 year.
I have always worked on vehicles most of my life, so I decided to give that a try as a career.
So, I started working for the Saturn company, then moved on to chevrolet, after about 3 years
of that, I had enough of dealerships. I then started working for Wal-Mart TLE, and have been
working on vehicles for them for about 10 years now. As well, I took a 2 year advanced,
computer tech course. On the side I take calls and travel around my city and fix/upgrade
peoples computers.

- I am a well read person; I have read atleast 200 miscellaneous books. So, I have a rather
large collection of books... unsure.gif

I suppose thats about all I can think of right now. But, if I can think of anything else I will be
sure to come back and add it.

Hard to study demonology when you don't believe in them, isn't it? Or do you tackle it from a totally secular angle?
Thanks for taking a moment to post here.

It is a little contradictory to my lack of belief. But, I often do things quite unorthodox. I find it a lot more entertaining from a secular view. tongue.gif

Really the reason for this, is to have a reference, maybe even a link in your signature, so at a glance, we can see who and what we are talking to! For example, if you had a PhD in philosophy, I'd be a lot less likely to check your references to Freud, or if you were a student of Hawkings, it might add some weight to your own theories of the creation of the universe.

From your "resume", I can see you may have a "Euro centric" world view (just like I have an Americcentric view), and as an atheist with a distaste for JW's (very candid of you by the way) I would be hard pressed to argue spirituality with you. It's just nice to read a post, and say "Whoa, where is this guy coming from!!??", and to have a quick reference. I thought it would be fun.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope we see more of you! thumbsup.gif

Hello all :]
I'm 20yrs young, hail from Long Island and currently pursuing a BS of Psychology to apply to Animal behavior when I graduate. I do have 2 cats and 2 dogs, all of whom enjoy crowding my bed when I am home on break and in my spare time I volunteer at the local animal shelter. I'd love to visit somewhere outside the states someday, and have a reasonable amount of faith it will happen. One of my favorite things to do is to go camping, especially on the beach where everything is just so mellow. Uh...I suppose I'd classify my "belief" as Agnostic and I love to sing (not professionally mind you, more of a hobby; school choirs and singing in the car kind of thing)

I mainly use the Ouija board with 2 others who are a bit more in tune with their "spiritual" side, I guess you could call it, but I keep an open mind and my feet on the ground :] Figured this thread would be a good place to start here (We'll start at the very beginning; it's a very good place to start! /Sound of Music )

I'll edit this if I think of anything else grin2.gif

Personally I'd LOVE to hear about your paranormal event in Iraq. I've always been interested in the paranormal in other cultures. I have a grasp of Japanese ideals on the paranormal from their pop culture, and the US and Europe share many aspects too (as well as Australia and other Euro-centric cultures). But other cultures that are totally alien fascinate me. Share that experience in the ghosts section!

credentials ???? lol nothing that would enhance I dare think unless the subject is fine arts or auto tech.

got a BA in fine arts from CCS here in Detroit. and a 2 year Assoc, in Auto technology ....... alot of which is now gone since the stroke ! lol or I may remember one minute then it's gone the next.

so on the boards it's usually not that I ignore an ongoing post or subject ... or that I'm backing out ...... I just usually forget where I was ! lmao. bad short term .

I used to read sooooooo much more , but the stroke left me with some effects of the eyes and too much reading or viewing the screen is really bothersome. not to mention the tia's I've had since then affect the area of eyesight and tongue control. ( like poking a sore spot )

but I have experience ! and am usually quick ( not as quick as I used to be ) but math ? greek to me. and that's ok. lol.

what brought me here was seeing something I couldn't and still can't explain. I know what it wasn't .

Not a christian by belief. Am Agnostic.

I play Jazz Drums, Congo Drums, "triple" drums (a variety of Congo), Dhol(Indian Drum) and am currently learning how to play the Darboukah (Arabic Drum)

I am cute, charming, adorable and crazy. I like long walks on the beach - seriously, I have a small affinity for shells original.gif And I'm a Cancer... with my Moon in Leo and Scorpio as my rising sign.

I'm 19, graduated highschool, have yet to attend university/collage. I don't even know what I want to take. All I know is that I want to be a writer, or some sort of paranormal investigator, but do people honestly make a living of that? Either of them? wink2.gif

Also I am a hippy.

I guess that was more of a short biography, but... it's all I got! crying.gif w00t.gif

credentials?... going chronologically...

Had cancer as a kid which left me with a very negative, nihilistic attitude. Depression has always been part of my life. Did well in school anyway and ended up going to a "Prestigious Ivy League School", where I majored in English Literature. About half way through my degree I realized that, although I loved literature, I didn't have any desire to actively participate in the field.

After university I traveled for a number of years-- trying to figure out what to do with my life. I hadn't planned on living long enough to face this issue and had no clue about "what I wanted to be when I grew up". I traveled in South America, Indochina, and western Europe and for a long time I just loved it. Worked in London one year when I ran out of money and then hit the road again. I had a vague idea of seeing Africa but got waylaid in Paris for a couple years after falling in love with an artist and realizing I could make an illegal living as an artists' model. Eventually broke up with the artist and did go to Africa (Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Mali, Mauritania, etc.) It was a fascinating life although I was very lonely since I was traveling alone.

Got badly mugged in southern Morocco-- basically beaten to a pulp, sexual stuff, etc.-- and this made me decide to end my travels and find a job in America.

Went through a series of strange jobs and strange drugs. Amazingly, during this low point in my life I met the man I ended up marrying. We've been together 27 years now and are still crazy about each other. He had three kids (the mother had "disappeared" years ago-- I guess he was attracted to unstable women) who became an important part of my life. My husband, who was a professor, had a sabbatical in New York. One day for some bizarre reason I impulsively went into the Steinway building near Carnegie Hall and asked how one learns to work on pianos. I'd always been a great music lover but hadn't learned an instrument as a kid because of my intermittent health. I started educating myself in this field and got good at it. I apprenticed at Steinway and, over the next few years, other places. Ended up opening a shop in the remote country area where my husband was, by then, teaching. It was fun for a number of years although I didn't enjoy life in conservative, rural America. I reconditioned antique instruments from all over the country (one of my reconditioned harpsichords is in the Smithsonian!). In the evenings I horsed around with my shop equipment, generating weird function-less objects. Eventually, I worked up the courage to submit one of my creations to an art show and... it got great reviews and sold to a collector (remember that I had worked as an artists' model in Paris and knew a bit about the art field).

We got tired of living in the boonies and moved to Annapolis, Maryland. I gave up the piano technology biz because I am fine boned and the continuous heavy lifting was giving me arthritis, My husband currently works in a think tank and I work as a sculptor. My stepsons have grown up, met women and generated 4 grandchildren who call me "grandma" (!!!) What could be more amazing? When I was young I thought I would never be part of a family unit because of the cancer thing. It seems like a miracle. Over the years I've learned to play fiddle and now play in a couple bands. I needed an instrument to make my life complete.

It's been a disorganized life but interesting with some wonderful people. What more can you ask? I'm hoping for more unexpected adventures...

So you actually worked in one of those shops in that funky little piano district around 57th an 7th? That's great.

Coincidentally, I used to live /literally/ across the street from the Steinway factory in Astoria, and that creepy -- creepy -- Steinway Mansion.

I can't give ya ideas on the paranormal investigation thing... but I CAN talk to you about how to get into writing and make a living at it.

I am a Technical Communications major. I do a lot of writing in a lot of styles... most of it in marketing writing, press releases, corporate communications, and even software documentation. It's not a glamorous job, BUT it pays the bills much better than most would expect (I've been in the industry so long that originally I was an engineer).

You would also not believe how many other writers I work with who came out of the journalism fields, and many others are writers for the technical industries while they plug along at the next Great American Novel. Nearly every business needs excellent writers at some point--communications in today's world of intellectual property is paramount.

You should go for it; you'd also be surprised how many businesses love English majors. You can teach someone to program computer code or do something procedural, it's nearly impossible to teach someone to communicate effectively on the job. If you have a natural gift for it, you're golden.

left high school with A levels in the sciences, Learnt to operate gliders with the Air Training Corps.
learnt aircraft engineering with a well known (amongst Aircraft Buffs) British aircraft manufacturer. and gained Private pilots licence.

Joined the RAF as an Airframe fitter, Worked on fast jets and transports, met a lovely WAAF who became Mrs GH. wub.gif

Also flew for the RAF, Thats about all i am willing to say about this period of my life, I don't want people recognising who I am and setting the MIB on me. (Hey what was that flash just then! cool.gif

Had, and still have, a body wasting medical condition (inherited from some long dead ancestor) that took my flying career from me and left me as i am now - not as bad off as steven hawking - yet, but still reduced to telling other people how to fix and fly aircraft and making flying models whilst i still can.
Am still and always will be interested in all forms of aviation and sciences.

Although of welsh extraction, please don't try talking to me in welsh - my family cast me out in shame when they realised i had no aptitude for the language and was happier speaking English!- (Shock! horror! he's no son of mine dai bach etc).

Keep trying to persuade Mrs GH to join in UM, she loves reading all the paranormal stuff but she is keyboard shy - (mind you she was mike shy until her first drunken karaoke now theres no stopping her!).

Not really, seeing as most ufo sightings are probably just test aircraft a couple of generations ahead of the in service stuff, theres no real fun in there!

However i do enjoy hand to hand combat with chemtrail scare story pedlars, (via the keyboard before some bright spark challenges me!). some of their arguments are laughable to say the least, but I don't like the way they deliberately set out to scare those who are gullible or too inexperienced in the field to see through them.

Agreed. But, as you indicated in your list of credentials, you are indeed pretty well qualified to analyze and make educated guesses and comments on these things. I LOVE it when people with this type of background use their expertise to make sense of the mysteries presented here everyday. Now, if only I could find a teen behavioral therapist with 20 or 30 years experience to send over to the "psi-kiddie" threads... laugh.gif

This is neat, I'll bite. And... I'll try not to post a lot. ):

I'm seventeen, but sometimes I forget and tell people I'm sixteen. My birthday is on the autumnal equinox--I love being able to tell people that.

I graduated from high school in May, and I plan to go to college (online courses, though) in the fall... if I would stop procrastinating... :x

And I don't have a job. D: But I plan to volunteer with this organization my mom works for, so they might hire me in the long run--and then they'll pay for my college. :3

But! This summer I hope to write a book, because I've been working on it for like... two years now, and I want to get it finished soon. It's an idea I've been working hard on for ages, and it's just eating me up all inside and whatnot. So, in my spare time, instead of working on it, I play Neopets... sad.gif!

But! Because of Neopets I have a lot of very good online friends. I've known several of them for four or five years, and have even met two of them. I went to the Mall of America to meet one, and went to Pennsylvania with my dad to see another--but he got lost so we didn't get to... (The trip wasn't meant to go see her, we were actually picking up a car for my brother, but it was a side-attraction that we screwed up on.) The same thing happened when I went to Wales. I planned to meet a friend in Cardiff, but we wound up not going in that direction. laugh.gif But! Later that year my friend in PA came down to KY and we went to Waverly Hills for an eight hour overnight. original.gif Sometime this year I want to go meet my friend in TX, and then go to Eastern State with my friend in PA.

I live with my mom, and my younger brother lives with my dad. UMM... we have three cats, two dogs, and loads of goldfish...

I have an affinity for foriegn music, for some reason. I absolutely can't stand American music, unless it's late 80s/early 90s. But, I absolutely love Dutch/Finnish female-fronted gothic/symphonic metal bands. Nightwish especially, not their new crap though. Ever since Tarja was removed their music suuuuucks. But! Tarja went solo so it's okay. ;D But aside from Tarja and Nightwish, I also like Epica, Within Temptation, The Gathering and some other little things. I also like folk music, especially Irish and various Celtic musicians.

My ultimate life-time goal/dream is to own an animal shelter and rehab facility for unwanted and rescued pets... which is a dream that is very far away. Sigh! crying.gif

Oh, and I love being able to say, "Genealogy sites don't register my last name as being real" because it's a relatively uncommon British surname. laugh.gif I think I found one site that says there is a ratio of six people to every one million that have this last name.

Ever since I was a little girl, my Christian parents allowed me to believe any way I wanted to, and I immediately fell in love with witchcraft--not knowing at six years old what it really was I was interested in. When I was fourteen, or something, I was given a book by a friend. It explained so much for me--and I knew that's exactly the way I was supposed to believe.

I've always believed in the supernatural; ghosts mostly. When I was young, I lived in an old house in a rural community, and I always thought it was haunted. It was that house, mostly, that got me believing in the paranormal--believing the way I do today. If it hadn't been for that house, I would not have turned out the same. I would always see and hear things, and it wasn't until the house burned down a few years ago that my mom actually told me there had been people die in it.

Since this is a paranormal forum, I guess I'll say I also believe I saw a UFO of some type when I was eight or nine. I was standing outside at night, with my brother and half-brother, when this large shape crossed the sky above us. It had three lights in the shape of an equilateral triangle, and none of them blinked, and there was no sound. All the lights were white, and really big, and the object flew over us in a matter of seconds--and there was no sound whatsoever. We came to the conclusion it was some sort of jet, but I still don't really know.

Oh, I joined U-M a...very long time ago. When it was really new, that long ago, because I was interested in the ABC phenomena. I left for a long time (like, super, super long time), and totally forgot about the forum. When I started having experiences at my new house, I remembered and tried to log on on my ooold account--and when I couldn't remember my password, I made this account--and periodically left for months at a time for no reason. Which is why my 1 1/2 year old account only has 278 posts. rofl.gif
