Full Version: Why Have ETs Stopped The Spectacular Shows

It seems that the ancient records that many say are proof of extra terrestrial intelligence in earths past always incorporate some spectacular event or mass sighting. When Alexander the Great and his armies witnessed "UFOs" they were flying low and frightening his men. The Indian Vimanas were war machines of immense power and destrucive capabilities etc, etc...

And it seems that now the ETI have become much more passive, and with the world being more poplated now than it ever has been why have they suddenly decided to call it quits or just hover out of view.

I think this proves in some ways that either (A)What the ancients saw could be explained in more "down to earth" terms, or (B)the aliens are tired and just want to anally probe people for a while.

I have no idea who Alexander the Great is....or Indian blach. But anyways, I assume this was long ago. There's many things that we are not certain about in history, so these may be false. There we hieroglyphics of aliens imprinted in the pyramids in Egypt. This supports the theory that alien beings were visitors to the Egyptians. I have no idea what I'm really trying to say, but the past is always uncertain...but I mean if you check out these forums more, I bet you could be convinced that they exist.

Im not really a skeptic, im just not quick to believe. For me eyewitness accounts and grainy photos aren't enough. As for aliens in heiroglyphics, they could be anything. Seeing as how we don't know what ETs look like how can we know that was is in a heiroglyphic or on a cave painting is an alien.

The only problem I have with UFO research is that its often assumption, after assumption.

I want to believe that there are intelligent beings visiting the earth but its just hard for me to give into blind faith.

Have spectacular, mass-sighting incidents really stopped? I can think of a few mass-sightings from the last century off the top of my head that have not been adequately explained. Like the Washington DC 1952 UFO wave, The 'Battle of Los Angeles' (1942), the Hudson Valley Sightings, The Lubbock Lights, Foo Fighters, the sightings in Mexico, etc.

Probably any of the above are as spectacular as the historical incidents you mention, the difference is our culture doesn't take these things seriously enough to record them as historical events

I agree with uth. Those still were mass sightings. I think more than not taking it seriously tho, today's era is one more of skepticism and having advanced technology etc, we just take it for granted it must be something logical and earthy, nothing extraterrestrial. In Alexander's times people were more opne to spectacular events. Something spectacular for them isn't for us anymore..

In regards to the Alexander the great account this story has never been verified. When it comes to ancient sightings they are obscure not to mention mind altering substances such as mushrooms among other were in common use at the time.

Or maybe people are simply misinterpreting ancient texts verified and otherwise.

This proves nothing and whil I beleive UFO's exist I think these so called ancient UFO and alien sightings are highly dubious at best.

The past is always uncertain because in the periods of time you're explaining, we don't have witnesses to verify these events. Also, maybe humans somehow had connections with ancient aliens.
