oo, we've gone to that market actually. Great shop. You speak Japanese, too, and that's funny because my husband does, too. We should start comparing clans and seeing if you two are related. grin2.gif I agree about the traditional skinwalking hours. All of our experiences, for the most part, have been between those hours. We did have a few run ins that were before these hours though. We may or may not be having problems with them again and, go figure, that's the time that she wakes up, complaining about "wolf creatures". She says that they are bumping into her window at night. We didn't know what to think about it until she showed us how they ran one day and she dropped on all fours and started bouncing around. It was unnerving...

Kagemt, skinwalkers have not a whole lot to do with genetics. It's not an interbreeding between man and animal that creates a skinwalkers. It's more along the lines of animal mimicry. They wear real, untanned animal skins to give off the impression of being that animal. There's a few indepth threads on these boards about skinwalkers. Happy hunting.

I am 1/4 indian but I am not from a reservation nor do I know what indian I am however I do believe skinwalkers exist.

Yes hello, I'm all the way Native (half Navajo) and I fully support the idea that skinwalkers exist. There isn't a doubt in my mind wink2.gif

Ahem...well, first of all, I'm not of native American origin (though if you want to trace back in history, you can consider me as a distant family. I'm an Asian), so I want to know more about skinwalkers, can anyone provide me some links, articles etc?

Thank you very much!

Good sites and articles on the topic of skinwalkers are far and few between. Most, imho, are garbage, unfortunately. There's some good threads on UM, however, if you use the search function. One was recently resurrected in the Ghosts, Hauntings and the Paranormal. Here are some of the sites that I have found that have information that would be handy for comprehending skinwalkers and/or are about skinwalkers themselves:

Skinwalkers:

http://www.deliriumsrealm.com/delirium/art...ew.asp?Post=351
http://www.navmedwoman.com/obsops.htm (haven't looked at the whole sight but does give some insight into the problems with skinwalkers on the Navajo res)

Funny site:

http://www.myspace.com/skinwalkers (sad to admit that these guys don't live very far from me ><)

If you're looking for a book, I really suggest "Navaho Witchcraft" by Clyde Kluckhohn. Very good.

I'm english/scottish so have nothing to do with NA's, but still i find the idea of skinwalkers pretty convincing, especially as they're not creatures but humans who mimic creatures (right?).
As far as i understand it they're medicine men who where the pelts of animals and walk around like them. Can anyone explain why they do what they do? and do they live normal life spans? Also, can someone explain this knee-hyperextension to me? I don't really understand what thats about
