How come UFO's in the 1920's-1950's look more bulgy than the ones which are reported today? Today, they are much thiner and sleek.

That 'hat' shaped one in your second picture was quite common in pics for the past century.

I think the various shapes and appearance of UFOs is due to several factors:
1) different phenomena at work (not all UFOs are the same thing)
2) advancement in earthly technology mistaken for UFOs
3) more sophisticated technology available to hoaxers

I doubt this. I lean towards what runepheonix said that "maybe alien technology advances just like ours".

There's no doubt that there is more sophisticated technology available to hoaxers. I'm not saying that all UFOs are hoaxes. But there's no need to hand a model on a string or throw a hubcap in the air when you've got Photoshop.

Here's a 1932 photo showing a similar image to the 2005 one:

I don't think there is any evidence that these things have advanced through time. There have always been a wide assortment of shapes reported. Discs, triangles, diamonds, cigars/cylendar, acorns, hats, chevrons, spheres etc. I don't really know what it means, each shape may represent a different phenomenon at work. Or there may be different 'models'.

I've seen several UFO's and the first ones I saw had no real shape. I mean they looked like orbs and or circles. It sounded like an airplane only with much louder engine power and they literally moved with lightning speed. The could go invinsible in the blink of an eye. By the way, since they can, does this mean they can manipulate light?

I've seen others though...they have awesome technology that the US can only dream of obtaining some day.

Just because it was done in the 20's doesn't mean they didn't know how to superimpose something on a picture when they developed it. They could have easily just cut that image out of the picture. It looks retardedly simplistic like a 3rd grader made that.

This image strongly suggests 'tampering' to me.
WHY?
Because this would of been noticed - and the guy in the picture would have been looking at the damn UFO - Cause the guy taking the picture would of said, "What the heck is that??" So the guy in the picture would have been turning around to look.

maybe its like cars. The better and newer models of ufo cost more than the older modelsand not many aliens can afford flash new models...

All thats needed is an Alien propulsion technology to make this Volkswagen an Orb. http://www.autoblog.com/2007/02/11/zz-tops...-has-a-vw-ball/

I believe the reason that these objects appear to develope over time is because the people that describe them & the ones that fake them, have the same
point of reference, popular culture.
During the 50's & 60's the sc-fi films of the day depicted these craft as silver saucer shaped discs, sightings of the period were of silver saucer shaped objects.
During the 80's around the time of the 'Close Encounters' movie, the sightings then became balls of fast & manouverable light. In fact after the film was released did we then
start to get similar stories of contact with 'greys'.
During the 90's we then had reports of flying triangles first seen in an episode of 'The X-Files'

The previous suggestion that ''perhaps the objects have evolved in shape is because the aliens themselves have evolved their technology'' is ludicrous when you think about it.
The statement implies that though these aliens my be hundreds of thousands of years technically advanced than us, only 50 years ago they were visiting us with spacecraft
from the Flash Gordon spacecraft school of design.

runephoenix
maybe they may not be technologically advanced in some things maybe just in travel.

This is awesome.

Also, the other pic that was posted, it looks to me like the UFO was added in later, or the guy was posing with the UFO!!!!!!!! "ET, SAY CHEESE!"
