Do you beleive in zodiac signs and horoscopes and astrology in general?

Personally i find it striking how zodiac signs match the personality of the people who are related to it. Therefore, yes, I kinda belive in the matching of zodiac signs to people.
But speaking about horoscopes, i don't believe in them. I find it odd to believe that every person will have the same experience on that particular day cause his/her horoscope said that

I don't think any of it has any effect, if it did my fiance` and I would be completely incompatible and, that isn't the case. Also horoscopes are so general that if you try you can make any one of them fit any given day in you life.

Any astrology reading that I have gotten so far has been correct. So I guess I have to say I "believe" in it. As far as horoscopes, nah...just lucky guessing .

I know someone that was born on the EXACT same day as me. My "Zodiac" sign fits my personality to a T....however...the person that shares the exact same sign, is a decietful liar, and a very mean and ill intentioned person. So, on that alone, personally, I feel that the zodiac signs are just pure coincidence in some cases.

Zodiac Signs in matter of relationships do state that some signs are incompatible with each other, but generally it says that although they incompatible, if they manage to overcome the aspects of their incompatibility, that can change and they become even more united sort of, and go along preety well. I'm not an artrological freak, and i dont believe it totally, but when reading good zodiacal signs aspects, i do relate people to their particular sign. I'm an Aquarius, and my sign depicts me almost exactly. Then again u have the ascendent sign etc, which influences ur sign and merge it with other signs..

And about the horoscope, i agree totally with you , u put it in the best words.

All astrology predictions are extremely generalized and apply to everyone in some form or another.

That, coupled with the fact that it's just completely ridiculous all together; no, I don't believe in any of it at all.

I have a friend of mine who is quite in astrology, and he told me interesting things about it. We have ascendent signs, which merge with our own. And also, theres the so called natal chart which explains the the merging of other signs with urs, according to the planets. For example Uranus is the weirdest planet in the solar system. Its north pole faces the Sun and its Moons spin around it backwards. As such, Uranus symbolizes the eccentric and unique things in our lives. It is associated with brilliance. This always in an astrological viewpoint. I did a natal chart, and many things did match, also my bad side so to speak, wierd

I believe in the zodiac, to an extent, there is always the influence from other signs, so not everything about one sign is true, which is why there are charts. And not to mention Chinese astrology, that is mainly numerology, can at times contradict western astrology. Which is normal, I suppose, many people are walking contradictions.

And I agree with what you say about horoscopes, it has never been true for me, just a form of entertainment.

BUT.....I still don't understand how 2 people born on the exact day......(when taking into concideration the meaning of the zodiac sign) could have 2 completely different personalities. I love and worship my children, this person choses to ignore their children. I do not lie and manipulate people, this person does. I won't take advantage of people, the list just goes on.....so..with out looking into uranus or some other planetary "anomaly" how could our zodiac signs mean the same thing?

In my opinion, every sign has something in common with the other, and each are compatible in different ways... There is a book I read a while back, called "All Around The Zodiac," That felt true to me, and says the same thing that I am.

Not trying to argue or debate, just thought I'd recommend the book.

It's all about influence, life, changes they experience, and time. Each sign goes through phases. They go from Pisces to Aries, to Taurus... not necessarily in that order... or those signs, but... that's why two of the same sign are different. They aren't in the same place. If that makes sense.

Although born in the same exact day, the time could be different. In a natal chart its of striking importnace to write exactly the time u were born. That effects the merging of ur sign with other signs. And if 2 people are born in the same exact time, yes probably they have the same personalities. Zodiac signs isnt always literary, sometimes its reading between the lines. For example Aquarius are friendly, but can become uncomfortable as they discuss their feelings, so if an Aquarian has Gemini as an ascendent sign which are curious, talkative, versatile, This Aquarian having Gemini as a merging sign, would likely be friendly and talkative, versatile, but not that open about their feelings. I am giving an example upon my sign which is an Aquarius, ascendent Gemini, and i relate preety much to that stament. I read other zodiac signs, and i could relate people i know to them. Some may tell me they're generic, i dont think so. Horoscopes are indeed generic, and as someone said, they're plainly enterntainment. But Zodiac signs are more descriptive. For example all Scorpios i know are very secretative and stubborn, and their zodiac signs states that. Pisces are very emotional, and not secretative like Scorpios are, thats according to astrology again, i can relate that to people i know well. As i said, im not that into it, but im just fascinated about this facts.

That's very easy to explain. I also have a friend whom he and I were born on the exact same day. First off, I think someone already mentioned this, just because you were born on the same, but perhaps you born at different times. As such your "rising sign" which is the sign that the was on the horizon at the precise TIME of your birth has a major impact on who you are astrologically. Not to mention you have to take into account the way she was raised versus the way you were raised.

Each sign and its aspects are like people. There are positive aspects as well as negative aspects. I think unfortuneately for the woman you are referring to, for whatever reason her more negative aspects of her natal chart have surfaced more than her positive ones.

As far as doubters go, its very easy to dismiss astrology, but keep this in mind. Astrology has been around for a long long time. Ancient sea farers navigating by the stars. Hell, even the three wise men were astrologers.

Astrology deals with trends and likelihoods, doesn't make it absolute fact, but what's likely to happen.

I believe in it to a certain extent, but don't base everything on it ... it's fun to read.

I would add that a natal chart gives a full picture of the skies over where you born at the time of your birth. Not only does this involve stars and planets, but also Houses. The purpose of a natal chart, imo, is to show weaknesses and strengths that can be worked with and overcome.

If you get your chart done you'll find it very accurate. For example I'm an Aries with a Moon in Scorpio and a Leo Ascendent, Mercury in Aries, Venus in Pisces and Mars in Libra. Very much me.

Horoscopes work by showing the effects of transiting planets on any particular sign. Unless you get a custominzed one it will be very general but you should also read for your ascendant sign.

This sums up my thoughts on astrology nicely. When it can be demonstrated that astrology has: 1) predictive value (ie, really works) and 2) exactly what mechanism (force, process etc.) celestial bodies use to influence human beings then I'll consider it seriously. This said, I'm not holding my breath here.

I'm dating someone born on the exact same day as me too. (May 7th) and we're almost exactly the same, only he's into more gothy things than I am. Anyway, All the horoscope quizzes say that I shouldn't date someone of my own sign.. LOL (I'm a quiz addict) Its like, TOO LATE! >w>
