I have a series called "Mysteries of the Unexplained". There's like 8 of them...
But my favorite is Unexplained Mysteries by Reader's Digest. It's pretty big and has a LOT of personal accounts and stories.

I liked "Ghost Tech" by Vince Wilson (no relation to Grant Wilson).
Besides a good description of various equipment it puts forth a number of interesting theories and possible explanations.

"Mysteries of the Unknown" from the editors of Time/Life books. I'm still not done with it, but it is packed with all things paranormal. It's incredible.

Mysteries of the Unexplained by readers digest. But it dosnt have enough stuff about cryptids. Most of it is Bigfoot the Yeti and the Loch Ness Monster.

The Afterlife. Its an investigation into the mysteries of life after death, by Jenny Randles and Peter Hough. published 1993.
Contents:
Ghosts.
Near death experiences.
Demons and angels.
EVP's.
Past lives, and many other topics.
It is very interesting but perhaps a little dated.

Even though they are fictional pieces, my favourites (off the top of my head) are those old-school Gothics. Like Dracula by Bram Stoker and The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde. Especially concidering all the modern misconceptions regarding the vampire come from the former.
