I just don't know how to set my email notification field. I have tried every which way, but it doesn't work the way I would like. crying.gif

I'm trying to request it to send one and only one notification of a reply per thread. But if more than one has been posted to the board, I get each and every one of them, no matter which way I set my preferences. hmm.gif

Also, it would seem that whichever reply I'm clicking the link for, should take me right to that reply, but it does not. It usually takes me to a previous page.

Just wondering, is there any way to fix this?

You could try the 'daily digest' option, you would then only receive one e-mail notification on any given day if there have been replies to the topic you are subscribed to.

I'm not sure what to suggest about the link, it should take you to the last unread post in the topic.

Thanks for your response, SaRuMan.

Daily Digest wouldn't notify me immediately, though, and I don't want to wait 24 hours at a time for this. Which selection is intended to notify me immediately, but only once per thread?

As for the software taking me to the wrong post, it either takes me to a previous page that I've already read, or it takes me to the last post on the thread, sometimes way past the last one I read.

Hi Saru, thats exactly what its doing. It's taking her to the last post she read in the thread because when she is clicking on the link she is logged in to UM. If she was logged out and clicked on the email link it would take her to the last post which is also the same as the link in the email notification.

It's taking me to the last post "in" the thread, whether that's where I left off reading or not. I may not have gotten that far along yet, or, even though I'm logged on, I may even be reading in a different forum category.

So you're saying, then, that it only works if I log off before I open the email and click the link? Then I lose my place where I was reading on a different thread topic. hmm.gif

Perhaps it only takes you to the end of the topic because it doesn't think you've viewed it before, maybe some sort of cookie or sessions issue.

As far as I'm aware there is no option to only send one e-mail per thread, unless I am mistaken.

Ok, thank you so much. I'm on message forums where the notification actually says unless the person clicks on that one and only notification and goes to the thread, they would automatically be removed from notifications.

I've decided to blame everything that goes wrong on Chemtrails, even though some people still claim it's the fault of NutraSweet! grin2.gif
