Full Version: Baby crying...sounded like a soul in torment.

A couple of years ago I heard (on radio) a recording of a baby crying that had been slowed right down.

The baby then sounded like an ancient soul groaning in torment. It was dramatic and alarming.

Has anyone else heard anything like this?

I'm not good enough with computers to do it myself, but is there anyone reading this that could do a link (or something) of a recording of a baby crying.....slowed down?

It's not exactly what you would call uplifting....but it is interesting....!!! thumbsup.gif

Replying mainly so I can track this as I still do not know how to subscribe to a thread rather than a forum blush.gif

Anyhow..... If played backwards I wonder if you can get a decipherable message.... *shrugs*.

I think i will test it and record my youngest daughter when she is wailing and then play it backwards in slow motion.

Isn't the sound of a baby crying capable of resonating the human brain? tongue.gif

Probably I dunno, but it sure does cut through a ton of noise.
Slowing down speech or dropping the octives is pretty standard method of creating "evil voices" though in my experience. Maybe layer a couple voices with one with a growl and one with a hiss and can make some fairly chilling effects. original.gif
Bet a room full of babies crying slowed down is pretty creepy.

Edit: nother mistype... Bet... not But... I have no clue what a room full of babies crying slowed down sounds like.
