Hey guys, I did a little bit of searching to see if a thread similar to this appeared already but I must admit that I did not search a lot. So if there is a thread similar to this then mods, feel free to delete this thread if needed.

The whole point of this thread is for you to post rock bands which you think are unknown by the majority of the people here, who knows you might like a band that you never heard of because of another poster. They can be any type of rock genre and remember, try to post unknown bands, not bands that you love and are known like Metallica or KISS(not to sound mean). No flaming either, non of that " [insert band name here] is so [insert insult here]!! "

Here are my two bands I'm currently listening to:

- Threat Signal
- Scar Symmetry

According to Wikipedia they are both melodic death metal.

Songs I recommend from Threat Signal are:
-Counterbalance
-Rational Eyes
-A new Beginning

Songs I recommend from Scar Symmetry are:
-The Illusionist
-Mind Machine
-Calculate the Apocalypse

Cool idea for a thread.

Has anyone ever heard of Bang Tango or Crimson Glory? they're like 80's/90's metal.

Very cool bands.

Bang Tango

- Someone Like you
- Dressed up Vamp

Crimson Glory

- In Dark Places
- Painted Skies

Threat Signal is wicked. Good ol' Canadian thrash/melodic death metal, Swedish style. I've had their album for quite some time. If you like them, check out another new unknown band, Blinded Colony.

I really good unknown band is Ankla. They are Latin thrash/hardcore, and they definately put out one of the best metal albums of 2006, and they play an awesome live show. They kind of remind me of older Sepultura with a more modernized sound. Recommended songs from them are Still Alive, Deceit, and Your Grace Makes Me Sick. The whole album is pretty incredible, though. They feature ex-Puya guitarist, Ramon Ortiz. He definately pulls off some great solos here.

I don't really know any unknown bands. Although they were relatively well-known in the UK, The Move is virtually unknown in the US with the exception of avid ELO fans.

glassvampire: good picks, I definatly like "Somone Like You" will go to my favorites on youtube!

Shakezulah: Great band on Blinded Colony! By the way, the recommended songs are from what band? Ankla or Sepultura
Shakezulah
The songs are from Ankla. I was only mentioning that they remind me of Sepultura.

Another new unknown band is 3 Mile Scream. They came out with a very stong debut album at the end of last year called "A Prelude to Our Demise". Very intense record. Recommended songs: "Mourning the Lost", "Our Blackened Sun", "Crippled Nation".

I'll do ya one better...The Drama Club. They don't even HAVE a Wikipedia article yet. LOL The lead singer used to front a band called Lifer that had mild success back in the late 90's, then several of the band members left to join Breaking Benjamin. He then moved on to form myDownfall which stayed pretty much underground. Now his new band The Drama Club is getting ready to release its first full length album in (I think) March. Their website is here: http://www.thedramaclubmusic.com/

Oh yeah, they are pretty good. I'm on The Shallow Bay (Breaking Benjamin's site), and they get a lot of attention over there, so I've heard them quite a bit. Definately a lot different than what Lifer was like, but still cool. They can write some real catchy tunes. By the way for others, Lifer is still really worth a listen, as well. Their album was good.

An underground I've recently discovered is Vampire Mooose. Yes, there are 3 O's. Haha, funny name, but they write some brutal songs. Check out their songs Portauni and 1.21 Gigawatts.

Great Bands you guys, excellent taste. How did you guys hear these bands? I heard mine on a Satellite Radio station (labeled 90's metal). Caayn I think you should put a warning on that link for dollaphobic people, I nearly crapped myself lol.

I hear about bands from a lot of different places. MySpace helps a lot. I've found many great bands there. Blabbermouth.net usually helps when I read the album reviews. There's also this local used cd shop by my house that I go to, and they have all sorts of obscure stuff. I sometimes pick up something that just looks interesting and sounds like it may be good, and most of the time, it is. Now that I have a satellite dish, we get some Sirius channels, including Hard Attack and Octane. I've heard some good underground bands on Hard Attack. That's where I heard Vampire Mooose. Octane plays more known stuff like Sevendust and Nonpoint, so it's not really good to listen to if you're looking for more underground bands.
