All right, for the third or fourth time now, I've had these weird dreams about literally losing my teeth! Tonight was the last straw, and I really want to share this with you all.
So, it goes like this - The first dream I had was about when I must have fell on concrete and lost my two front teeth. You know what happens when you lose them, things get a little bloody and well, gross! The main feeling I get when I lose them is - "omg! I'll never get them back in again, I'll be ugly!". Could it be that I'm still worried about how I look? If it is, then my dreams are so simplistc that they're utterly easy to decipher, lmao!
Another dream was when my whole mouth enlarged and inside, it was black. It looked like a swamp or a sewage dump site.. in my mouth! I think it was when my breath was really starting to reek in my younger days (laugh if you will). I've always seemed to have had a problem with brushing my teeth really well too, lol. But, in the dream, I looked in the mirror and saw that I had a huge saucer mouth. So, I was busy trying to brush my teeth. I was worried that my mouth became so vile and disgusting that it turned into a swamp! lmao. If you had seen what I had seen, you'd freak out and probably puke. Ack! lol.
The next couple dreams were about me grinding my teeth until they fell out. Okay, so I remember when I was little, I would grind them and bend them in my mouth to get them loose. I think all kids will do this around the time they lose their baby teeth. So, in my dream, however, I'm in my present age - 20 now. And, I find myself loosening up my teeth when I'm not supposed to! (I've done this in real life, sometimes..) Well, for some reason I can't control myself in the dream. I grind them so hard, that my mouth becomes all bloody and my good teeth are finally spit out. You thought that was bad? The dream I had this morning was when I kept grinding them, and grinding them, and grinding them, until I could hear the bone crackling too. When I was finished, I spit out the upper part of my entire gum line with three or four teeth still attached to it!! It came out all bloody, ooky and uttery grotesque if you want to hear any details.
Doesn't that gross you out?! The worst part is, is that it looked like salami instead of the gum. No, that's not the worst part. I have some nephews and nieces that are pretty much annoying. I believe it was my niece who took the upper part of my gums and teeth, and threw them across the bathroom. I was hoping to save the teeth, so that I don't end up with this huge gaping hole in my mouth. Everything was bloody after that, I could literally taste the blood in my mouth and I remember spitting it all out in the sink.
Finally, that's when I woke up. In the dream, I'm usually pretty certain that whatever is happening is actually real. I actually thought I lost my teeth in such a brutal and grotesque manner. I didn't necessarily wake up, happy to see my teeth still there, but I guess once I wake up reality sets in pretty quickly.
I still have dreams that I'm running from the police, or I've committed felonies or murders though. Now that is messed up. In those dreams, I thought that my life was going to be over. I thought I was going to end up in a jail cell for the rest of my life. I thought I had did the most haneous crimes in my dream world. Now, that it's absolutely frightening and terrifying! Why do I have to experience this for anyway?! I'm just happy that I wake up and I don't end up in that strange world!

Holy crap dude I have these types of dreams befor as well and damn they are creepy. The feeling you have in your dream is almost a controlled panick with fear about whats happening. I would love to know what these dreams mean. I havn't had one in a long time but remember them like they were yesterday. If anyone interprets dreams I would love to know as well what this kind of dream might symbolize. I hope your dreams like this go way as mine did, I know the feeling man. You wake up so relieved you still have all your teeth, it's messed up.

Losing your teeth in dreams is supposed to mean your worried about your appearance but apparently there's another reason for it. (It's somewhere mentioned on the Forums section but mightn't be this particular one.)
I've had a couple myself, including the fact that they seem real, but never so detailed and bloody.

I have the same kind if dreams from time to time where I lose teeth, although usually not out of accidents, but just out of the blue a tooth will fall out. As for what it means I have heard a couple different things. It could be simply that you are afraid to lose your teeth and look different, which if you ride a skateboard seems to be all too real a problem...I have also read in a "dream interpretation" book that it means that you are holding something back that you really want to, or need to say in the real world and the teeth represent the ideas/words that are supposed to come out whether you want them to or not. Of course that is from a woowoo dream interpretation book, so take it for what it is worth. My understanding is thta it is a very common dream so you are not alone...

http://www.dreamschool.org/7Symbols/teeth.html This site basically says that teeth are the first thing that we use in the digestive system and that when we loose them in our dreams that it means a change in the way we process things. Hard to chew, hard to swallow that, in common language. LOL! They also said that it might be a sign of you grinding you teeth in your sleep.
Humor aside, it seems that your dreams don't necessarily pertain to vanity but more your ability to digest/process something Taken in context, tooth loss plus the image of two young children, one of them throwing the teeth and diseased part of gum away from you (and that they annoyed you by doing it) could mean that aren't all that happy about being an adult and the adult problems that you have to swallow/chew on. The child side of you is annoying you but you are caught in an in-between stage. Followed by the felonies or murder dreams may be fearing making a BIG mistake and dream speak seems to inflate things so that we'll pay attention to it. Hope this helps! It's just one interpretation. Warm regards!

My sister and brother used to literally pull their teeth out. On her own, without anaesthetic or anything. Just a lot of tugging and pulling...I've never done that. I don't have the guts.
Apart from this one time when I was eating a piece of toffee. I suddenly felt this weird sensation in my miouth - sorta like hollow, or that I was missing something, you know what I mean - so I took the toffee out and there was one of my teeth embedded in it..

I don't recall any dreams with my teeth actually falling out, though when I was in my early 20's I had occasional dreams where they were flexible like cartilage. And then I had dental problems shortly after that, so maybe it was a sign.
I did once have a dream where my nose fell off, which left me feeling quite distressed. I picked it up off the floor and reattached it by sticking it back on my face as though it was clay. As soon as I did that, my nose gave me sensations of a painfully cold numbness, which shocked me so much that I woke up for real. The strange part was that even sitting in bed with the light on, it still felt cold and numb for more than 5 minutes afterwards. It must be the power of mind over body, or something.

Different cultures have different ways to decipher dreams. One school of thoughts in the Chinese culture is that when you dream of losing teeth, if there's no blood in the dream, it doesn't mean anything bad. But if you dream that you lost some teeth and you can see blood in your dream, that means something bad is going to happen to people around you.
I'm not sure if I believe it. Of course I don't want to because who knows when i'm going to have a dream like that too.. But my mom told me that she had this kind of dream twice and both times was right around the time when her parents died...

TEETH
In general the teeth represent your power to "chew things over" and make events digestible. They may at times also suggest biting remarks, or hurtful words. The loss of a tooth often relates to feelings of loss about a person, or in general. But if many teeth fall out in some way it indicates your worries about your appearance, or links with the saying, "I'm losing it". It may also be about fears of aging and death.

My dreams would often by weird because it would be a similar dream to that of any other I would normally have. The only difference is during the events and themes of the dream I'd also have a loose tooth that I couldn't resist picking at. As the dream would go on, the tooth would become increasingly loose and I'd be thinking about it more...this minor part of the dream eventually took the whole dream over. Eventually it would come out, and before too long several others were loose and fallen out too until I lost most of my teeth. Most of my losing teeth dreams have fit this mould. Don't remember any blood, though.

Ugh, I hate those dreams. I have had them many times. One I remember in particular was a normal dream until I felt some sand or something in my mouth. I reached in see what it was and my teeth were just crumbling. I kept thinking "damn i dont have dental insurance right now!" and then another tooth would crumble.
When I looked it up, I found that a lot of dream dictionaries say the same thing. Dreaming that you are losing teeth means that you feel you are losing control of something in your life. This made sense to me, cause if I think about it, I have had those dreams during crazy situations in my life. One book even said something about these dreams occuring when you feel vulnerable, like you did as a child and your teeth really WERE falling out. Hm.

Okay, I have to bump my own thread up again because of happened this morning!
I actually woke up with a very reek smell coming from my mouth. I was totally surprised and I
knew I brushed my teeth last night, because I took a shower and everything!
But, I was still pretty tired and felt like going back to bed. I couldn't because the smell was still bad, so I immediately jumped out of my nice warm bed to brush my teeth.. that's when I looked in the mirror..
..my mouth was
black! My tongue mainly, it was totally black! Immediately, I thought about the dream I had where my mouth was black. My tongue, well basically making up 80% of my mouth, was black. I got started and brushed it all off my tongue. It came off, thankfully, and washed it all out.
As I was brushing, I was trying to figure out what I had ate before I went to sleep that night. And it hit me, I had used those Pepto-Bismol chewable tablets because I had a stomach ache. On the box, I remember reading awhile ago, that one of the warnings was that it "may turn your tongue black". Why? I guess it's just a chemical reaction, not too sure.
However, I'm not sure whether to take the dream I had as a future-like prediction or simply a coincidence. My dream seems much more dramatic than what I experienced this morning as well.
Any thoughts?

My granddaughter woke up one morning also with a black coating on her tongue...Her mom panicked and took her right to the dr. He said that it was a chemical reaction to something she ate...He then took a wet towel and wiped off the black from her tongue. We never figured out where it came from (she eats everything), but he said there was nothing to worry about..It was probably just your Pepto Bismol tablets....Especially since it had the warning on the package....
