Well, since I'm at it, let me share with you my Out Of Body Experience. I subitted it to OBERF.org a while ago. Here's the link.

It happened when I was a kid, around 5 years old, in 1992. We were living in UAE, a country of the Arabian Gulf. That's 15 years ago.

" I was 5 years old. At Lake Khaled Park, I was with my family; my dad, my mum, and my baby sister. The park was a small area going around the lake. You could see the lake while sitting on the ground. On the other side lied the main street where cars moved. Just by the side of the lake, there was a fence and a narrow way, where people could walk on and see the lake.

We were about to eat a pizza we had, when my mum wanted to go to the bathroom. As mum had no idea where it is, my dad led her to it. It was near. They set off with mum carrying my one-year-old sister leaving me alone, sitting on a blanket on the grass, with the pizza in front of me.

On their way back, unfortunately, they forgot where I'd been. They searched for me for hours, but couldn't find me. I was sitting as I was, and didn't move at all. Ironically, I didn't notice how long they left me alone.

All of a sudden, my first and only OOBE started; I saw my mum - carrying my sister - walking through the whole park looking for me. She was crying, and people stopped her and asked her what was wrong. I couldn't hear anything, though I saw all the details; my mum, my sister, the road, the people, the fence, and the lake. The viewing angle changed for a few times; close-up, far, from the back..etc

Furthermore, I saw mum sit down on the side of the road, cry more, then she took off her high-heel shoes. She then got up, and restarted the search, walking barefoot. The experience stopped at that part, and I felt my body again, sitting in the same place on the grass.

Remember that I was a kid, so that experience was ultimately confusing to me. I was anxious and worried. After a few minutes, I saw mum running toward me. She hugged and kissed me, and she cried. She found me at last. I was speechless, as even I wasn't certain why I saw her walking & crying like that, not until they told me what happened. My dad caught up very soon afterwards.

Mum told me what had happened, and that she - and dad - thought I got lost from them forever. She told me exactly what I had seen beforehand in my OOBE. I was astonished, but never told them about my strange experience. My dad told me that he'd called the police and was searching with them for me.

That's it. Why I didn't have a glimpse of dad in that experience I don't know. But overall, that was a very strange experience that I count as helpless, not helpful. I'd rather not have such experience again. As a kid, I gained nothing from seeing my mum in such terrible condition. I was totally unable to make any positive move.

I want to add too that the distance between me and my mum was very small, not more than 2 miles apart. "

What it sounds like to me is not a out of body experience. It looks like some kind of vision or dream, like you said, that really had barely any "message" that a small child could comprehend besides being separated with your mother. You never had a vision/dream since that event? Maybe you have abilities of some other psychic realm that can be revised since you were a five year old child.

Not an OBE, sorry. It was just a vision of some kind.

What's the difference between an OOBE and a 'vision of some kind' ?

i dont know alot about this but im guessing an out of body experiance is when people see you somewhere your not, and a vision is when people can't see you but you can see them for a short period of time

Sounds like a dream, with an OBE there is a sensation, often described as static or a vibration just before you leave your body. Possibly a dream, even lucid dreaming or a vision.

DrH.......I disagree with the person who said this was not an OOB. Those who are inexperienced project but usually stay close to the earth. Children are often protected by their guardian and are kept safe and close to their physical body and the earth plane.

Ha, many OOBs are confusing to adults and sometimes it takes weeks and months for the reason for the experience to become apparent to you.

I think you were a child who just wanted to go to his mother and fell asleep, and went to her. You have had many OOBs that you just can't remember.

Remember that the memorys of this experience are those of a 5 yo!!!!!!!!!! Do not let the emotions and feeling of a 5yo hold you back from important work you can do on the AP.

It sounds to me like Remote Viewing.

To Ashlii: Out of the Body Experience or Astral Travel is when people cannot see you, you are in your astral form, invisible to the vast majority of people. A vision is when you have a picture in your head that is extremely vivid and is totally different from normal thoughts. When you say about people seeing you somewhere where you are not, that is bilocation - quite rare original.gif

I am not an expert, although I have had similar experiences a number of times. Some experts like to tightly define and categorise experiences, mainly to further their reputations as experts. There are many practical forms of out of body experiences and this certainly sounds like one form. Some people try to link astral travel to certain eastern meditations or beliefs, while others think there is only one form of physical experience/sensations. Neither of these are exclusively true, as the many and varied experiences related here, and elsewhere, indicate. If you are sure that your memories are not influenced by later recounts of your parents experiences, and your memories are independently verified by those experiences, then you probably projected out of your body and viewed, in real time, your parents . It is unusual that you have not had any further experiences, but this could have been a one off, due to the trauma your parents were experiencing and the sense of separation you must have undergone even if not consciously aware of it.
