Has the final resting place of Noah's Ark - on Mount Ararat in Eastern Turkey - been confirmed from space? There had always been claims by Armenian Turks that the disintegrating remains of a huge wooden ship has been seen on the mountain. However - they could not be taken seriously until 1958 - when American satellite photography revealed a huge ship like formation over 4000 metres above sea level. Because of the military sensitivity of the nearby Russian-Iranian border - a 1960 Turkish Army expedition only had time to take photographs and simple measurements of the curious 140 metre long depression - which roughly conforms to the Biblical dimensions.
I thought it was in Iraq

From the image, it looks like the ‘Ark’ has pointed ends. The bible gives the exact measurements and configuration of the ark, so that Noah could fulfil His wishes. And from the bible it indicates the Ark is a huge oblong box, square at both ends!

This is one of the more recent photos, but it isn't on the mountain this formation is near the base. There are other pictures of a black shape in the snow on the mountain, but they're too obscure to make anything out. Some wood was found in the 70's, and dated to be several thousand years old. However some sceptics say the carbon-14 used on the wood was affected by the wood being in ice.
The ark in the Bible doesn't match this one. Although it wasn't flat at both ends, it had the shape like a rectangular prism.

I do believe in Noah's Ark, and I wonder if they might find it soon in the near future. I wonder if Atlantis is real? <_<

Yeah, I think it's probably erosion. Look at what is supposed to be the form of the Ark and look at the other erosions. They look practically the same, just shaped differently. So I'm guessing a UFO landed next to the Ark to make it that way?
When I'm talking about other erosions, I'm talking about the one on the left side.
Or wait a second...am I looking at the right thing? Lol...

I agree that it is erosion,if they are so curious, why dont they dig the place up and stop us all guessing....

I have opinions but wether their right or not is a matter of opinion.

There was another "ark" that was seen by a bunch of people including one of the presidents. All the people who saw it said it had square ends. Too bad it's buried under snow now....

Perhaps one is the ark of the bible and the other is the ark from the sumerian epic of gilgamesh, that is if their not the same ark

| Ron Bennet, an UPI photo-journalist for the White House, claimed the President's Plane flew over the Ark. They were on Air Force One with President Jimmy Carter on their way from Poland to Tehran, Iran, to attend a New Year's Day celebration given by the Shah. While flying over eastern Turkey, the occupants of the plane saw a "large, dark boat clearly visible" below them on Mount Ararat. It was partially covered by snow and ice. |

IM NOT A RELIGEOUS PERSON AND I DONT BELIVE IN THE ARK OR ADAM AND EVE, I KNOW SOME PEOPLE DO SO I DONT MEAN TO AFFEND ANYONE. AND SOZ ABOUT MY SPELLING.
The reason that further studies haven't taken place revolve around the fact that as previously mentioned military commitments prohibit them. I believe the last expedition took place in the 50's and no more have been allowed to take place ever since. If you would like to read further on the subject try these sites... info packed!

Watched a programme where a group of scientists actually gained permission from both the turkish and Armenian govts. (very rare) to go and study it. They virtually proved that it's natural geological formations, they even explained in laymans terms how it came to be that shape etc etc.
