"immortal" christian goths? Er ... nope! Ive seen the typical new age goths that think when they stare at you, you will be intimidated by them and move out of their way .... but never immortal goths ...... let alone immortal and christian!

Could you define "goth"??

Feb 27 2007, 01:36 PM
Do you mean the same body that almost all christians believe they will get when they die? Because then I guess the Goth isn't really all that much of a factor.

Maybe they're just Christians who believe in reincarnation and like to wear a lot of black?

I was kinda thinking along the lines of you ^^. Sounds like they believe in reincarnation. I suppose if you conider yourself reincarnated, you could kinda stretch that to immortal. And goth can be just a fashion/trend choice, right?

You would not mean one of the various Arian sects that cropped up among the Germanic Goth tribes at the very beginning of the Dark Ages do you? There was a sect that believed in reincarnation but they were declared heretics by the Roman Church.

Sounds like reincarnation to me...except, doesn't that go against the teachings of Christianity. Either that or they're talking about getting new body in heaven or however that goes. Nobody's physical body is immortal.

Um, have any of you been to church?
Every Sunday I say in the Nicene Creed, "We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. With the Father and the Son he is worshiped and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets. We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen."
I'm not baptized. I have never gone to church before in my life until recently. I am paid to be there. I don't really go because I want to. But, I have learned a lot being there and reciting these creeds through the rituals of Eucharist. The above bolded phrase means to me that we believe in the resurrection of all of our souls, and the life of the world to come meaning our own resurrection. At least that's how I worship every Sunday. I don't know if this is how every Christian is interpreting these creeds, but that's how it sounds to me.
I was a little surprised to hear everyone saying that CHristians would never believe in resurrection except for Jesus himself. I go to Episcopalian church so it's quite different than what you all are exposed to in the media. It's much much nicer. =)
As for the goth thing, there are a lot of christian metal and rock bands coming out which is making it totally ok for a christian to wear tons of black clothes, boots, jewelry, piercings etc. I've never heard of immortal goth christians, but I've definitely seen goth christians. Being goth is stupid, it's asking for attention. When you wear black you scare people and you know deep down inside that that's what you are trying to do. You are trying to make poeple look at you and go, "they wear black, they must be really serious! and spooky!" my boyfriend wears this metal outfit all the time and he looks ridiculous. but it's who he thinks he is so he keeps doing it. it's just intimidation.

Goths are tools, with a capitol T.
They are he reason Hot Topic is still open malls across the country.
The only thing that I can say about them that's positive, is they give Americans someone to pick on besides Emo kids...and maybe a little bit of credit for Christina Ricci. Otherwise, UGH.
Immortal Cristian Goths? If there is a group that refers to themselves as such, they should be hunted down and committed to a mental institution.

hahahaha christian emos? thats cool haha, but hey, what's so wrong with being emo?
ok, i read something somewhere in the net...they have christian verses from jesus, they tell themselves to believe that he is the only god there should be.
they should entirely believe in that only then they can find a new flesh for them to live a new life in...a totaly new body, a new person...just search the web...maybe you'lol find some info...there is even a christiangoth gathering out there. "The only thing that I can say about them that's positive, is they give Americans someone to pick on besides Emo kids..." again...what's wrong with being emo?

Nothing's wrong with Goths or Emos. They're just kids who, one way or another, found themselves labeled along with everyone who dresses similarly to them and enjoys similar music.

Though just in my opinion here: Goths have better music. I'm just sayin'!

As for "Immortal Christian Goths"...
Christians who call themselves 'Immortal' and 'Goth.'
