Got this bit of interesting info from timesofindia.com.

BEIJING: A team of Chinese scientists is to head out to the far west of the country to investigate a mystery pyramid that local legend says is a launch tower left by aliens from space, Xinhua news agency said on Wednesday.

Nine scientists would probe origins of the 50-60 metre (165-198 ft) tall structure -- dubbed "the ET relics" -- in the western province of Qinghai this month, the agency said.

It sits on Mount Baigong, has three caves with triangular openings on its facade and is filled with red-hued pipes leading into the mountain and a nearby salt water lake, Xinhua said.

Rusty iron scraps, pipes amd unusually shaped stones were scattered around the inhospitable and largely uninhabited area, it said.

A research fellow at a nearby observatory of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences said the theory the pyramid was created by extra terrestrials was "understandable and worth looking into", it added

Xinhua did not report any details on the age of the structure, or any other possible explanations for it.

Hi Kent,
My wife and I visited this exhibit when it was at the Seattle Art Museum
a year ago. The "art" was discovered in the same region as the Chinese
pyramid featured currently on your web site. The excavation at the
Sichuan site made remarkable discoveries of bronze ceremonial objects
including statuary, masks, and an eagle staffhead. The objects were all
found in two rectangular pits aligned with true north. Many objects in
the pit were burned and the carbon dating placed the pit at over 5,000
years. My specualtion is that the objects were dug up by ancient
peasant farmers and were considered evil, therefore were burned and
buried. Look through the attached page and youīll see the reason
ancient people may have believed the objects evil. They look a lot like
the typical grey-alien with large oblong heads and the typical large
cat-shaped eyes which many people today catagorize as demonic. The
masks and eagle staffhead, on the other hand, are extremely oversized.
They look like they were made for somebody at least nine feet tall. I
believe the bronze eagle was a staffhead because of the four holes
equally spaced around the open base. I think it was made to fit over
the end of a mastadon tusk. There are a lot of mastadon ivory objects
in the exhibit, and one of the bronze (grey-alien) statues is shaped to
hold a round, curved, very large walking stick, war club, or ceremonial
staff (tusk). The huge mask has five holes for head straps, and the
pupils in the eyes extend out from the mask about 6". Itīs as if the
mask is depicting that the wearer had extended vision or perhaps was
telepathic. There are many unusual features about the objects that run
counter to the standard line delivered by the exhibit guides. The only
evidence that the mask and staffhead werenīt made for living beings is,
"they didnīt find any extra large bones at the site." I contend the
original people that dug the artifacts up 5,000 years ago burned any
bones that might have suggested at 9ī tall beings, or oblong shaped
skulls with cat-like eyes.

If I remember correctly the exhibit went to New York from here. I donīt
know if itīs still on display there, but I believe the artifacts and the
pyramids were related.

You can see on the attached map that Sichuan province is directly south
of Qinghai where the pyramids are located.

ps I donīt know why the "Included Page" reference is to: Maps of Mexico
--- could it be a synchronistic Fruedian slip?

Interesting site, though whether it is related to the pyramids is debatable - although they are bordering provences, without knowing exactly where they are, the distances could be considerable still.
