Hey everyone. I am a Canadian historian who writes every week about various aspects of the history of things paranormal.

This week in my column, I recognize the efforts of Dr. Robert Jahn, Brenda Dunne and supporters of the Princeton Engineering Anomalies Research (PEAR) for delving into issues of consciousness over the past 28 years. PEAR is closing its doors at the end of this month.

I think it's really cool what PEAR has done, despite criticism from mainstream scientists and paranormal debunkers. The work is important, and PEAR will stand in history as a pioneer in understand the human mind, telepathy and how everything is connected!

What are your thoughts? Is there a global consciousness that connects all things, including a "universal life force"?

I've heard about a few of these studies, and according to the results, I'd say there seems to be some sort of "global consciousness". It saddens me to hear that such a group is closing down. Why so?

Hello Chris,

There has always been a connection between all things. The awareness level reguarding this is expanding to about .5 % of the global population. These conclusions are based more from spiritual insights than scientific proof. Mainstream thinking has never led evolutionary concepts and its place is to support conventional wisdom.

Since I am an advocate for understanding the human mind, telepathy and how everything is connected, now that PEAR has discontinurd operations, what do you see as a next step for this kind of discovery work. I myself would love to share various experiences with a receptive community.

Thats a shame the global consciousness program is coming to an end? First I've heard of it being cut. I was apart of it when one could post responses.. anything on wanted in the data banks..now that feature seems to be defunct. It's a shame this is going to be down because time is only needed to see an increase of awareness of individuals.. if it was just starting, I'd say it might have a go.. the net is crawling with like minded thinkers all of the sudden.

Hi John! Where does the 0.5% figure come from for awareness of global consciousness in the world population? Maybe I'm being overly optimistic, but I wonder if it's higher? original.gif PEAR is far from the only research being done related to global consciousness. I highly recommend Lynne McTaggart's books as a starting point to see other work being done, especially "The Field." It's quite good and inspiring! Her latest book "The Intention Experiment" sounds really COOL! Dean Radin's books are also interesting and along this line.

Shekinah: I think global consciousness ideas are only beginning - far from an end. And PEAR ceased on its own accord, feeling like others should take the next steps. Dr. Jahn is 76 now - so he's certainly ready for retirement. He and Brenda Dunne have done fine work.

To all: It is worth considering the role that natural but misunderstood (or not understood) forces may play in hinting at explanations for paranormal phenomena, including survival after death and telepathy. I am not sure what the answers all - these are all theories. But I think it is a fascinating addition to the traditional thoughts pertaining to things paranormal.

cheers,
Chris

This is the theme of my week.
I am a pioneer of the human condition, subjective and subjectivly shared!
Love you all fellow coworkers!

The real work is no organization (well maybe "Sounds True Presents"> They have my thanks).

Its the information sharing individuals. Due to the internet and a slwo establishment of rhetoric protocol we are sharing our subjective opinions and findings faster than ever. Ive learned so much in the last two years.

Information debatable travels faster than the speed of light. instantaneous! we just have to have our temples(straws) dipping into the same pools. What pool you drink from in is determined by your interests and progressive thoughts. The abstracted minds and innovators are the ones unveiling new things all the times. You guys synchn with my excited ranting?

Hi Chris,

As I recall the .5% was mentioned in the Kryon channellings. http://www.kryon.com/menu.html

Spiritual awareness has "being" more of a goal than knowing. In many cases you express your being as a result of your experience. Experience provides us with the best knowledge and even that is limited to our perceptions reguarding it.

When you mentioned telepathy you caught my interest. I think this natural human ability will become more and more recognized as time goes by. It seems we all use this skill to various extents however the general thinking sees it as special or non-existant.

It was good to here about PEAR and your work in this area.

Thanks
