Not trying to prove anything, just sharing paranormal experience. When I lived with my parents a friend gave me a little black kitten for a b-day present, unfortunately I could only keep it for a short amount of time due to the fact that my mother absolutely hates cats...

She was really sweet and followed me around where ever I went in the time I kept her. I later gave her to one of my other friends to give her a good home. I never followed up on what happened to my little kitty. About 2-3 years later I started to see a little black figure (out of the corner of my eye) cross the hallway infront of my room when ever I left the door open. This would happen every once in awhile usually at night. Odd thing was I never saw it anywhere else in my house, even stranger was the coincidence that the short period I had the kitty I would usually play with her in that hallway... My close friend would spend night every now and then and she has seen it also. One night she slept over she was in my room just hanging out and my door was open and she heard a distinct meow coming from the hallway. I was in the bathroom with the door closed getting ready for bed. She knocked on the door and asked if I was meowing. I obviously said no and and I had not heard any noises while I was in the bathroom. (Bathroom faces the hallway) If anything has happened to my poor kitty, which I really hope hasn't but in the case of, and it is her spirit I'm happy she would want to hang around me.
FOCUS: Has anyone else had this type of experience? Also insight on experience. Thanks.

Yes.. my granny's pet duck DAFFY haunted the old home place till my grandmother died... There is a bond that exist there just as if they were human.
Imo, Spiritual connection exist and the bond stays strong even after death- even b/t animals and people.

Honestly, since it started to happen I kind of feel guilty for giving her away (if something happened to her). Heehee, odd to think of a ghost duck. What were the experience and on-goings like for that?

Yeah I haven't seen her since I moved out and I have two cats now who are extremely affectionate.

I hope her spirit is at rest now. I would feel worse if she's trapped at my old house without me there....

I only see ghosts on the deceased pets in my dreams occasionaly.. 2 of the family dogs died, i no longer live there and i've been gone for about 7 years now and only recently started seeing them in my dreams even if i never think about them. They never appear together in the same dream and i'm always back home when they do appear, only rarely do they appear in my present home in my dreams.
The 2 dogs were 2 of 3 dogs, the 3rd is still alive yet i never dream of it and i knew it as well as i knew the other 2. The other dog died of excessive bleeding from an ulser on its back and had to be put down.. The other one ran away from home so i don't know what happened to it. When i dream of them i'm playing
with them. Dreams are mainly based off what you're thinking before you sleep or what's been on your mind and since neither of them are or have been on my mind to make me dream about them then it would suggest that they're possibly spirits. But why are they appearing to me in my dreams? I know i no longer live back home but yeh.

Could very well be your kitty. You should try to contact this cat. I have one time seen an animal spirit. It was a cat and just stared at me with this sad expression and than I blinked and it was gone.

Yeh seeing animals can kinda be creepy because they can't talk they just sit there staring at you and i hate it when spirits do that it freaks me out lol.

I think it's possible yes
But how would you know it was a spirit and not just a dream?
Lady_Anvilabeel
Mar 27 2007, 02:05 PM
I think it's possible that occasionally spirit visits or messages can be given through dreams, just normal dreams, all nice and mellow - not like SP or wild sensations/trippy hypnagogic stuff.
I've had a few dreams that I can't explain in any other way. A couple that come to mind was being given the solution to a problem, something far to complex and complicated for me to come up with myself because i didn't know to the extent of what was involved, but in the dream it was all laid out like a map with directions, it was just weird lol......
Another was hearing the lords prayer being recited by an unknown female voice, It was really fast and like whooommm, I woke up and thought wth

Later that night I was catching up with an old friend when i became aware of a spirit woman, she started to go on about 'the lords prayer', I then remembered the dream! and told my friend. I described the woman to her and some other stuff that she was showing me. My friend was like omg that is my Aunt (her aunt used to make them say the lords prayer before bedtime whenever they stayed over as children)

SO.....is it possible for some of us to "channel" in our sleep?.....B
OT:
light trance mediumship is a subject of exteme interest as of late
Lady_Anvilabeel
Mar 27 2007, 03:08 PM
Yea i think it's possible, but like the experiences I shared there, these happened in a very cosy, relaxed and peaceful state of sleep, nothing to deep, nothing frightening or stressful. I don't see why a person can't enter a light trance state during sleep and recieve.....It would be same as reaching that state through meditation only difference being we don't have control of inducing it during sleep, it would be just something that happened because......xyz (who knows)
I can only put these experiences a side as something more than just dreams because they had meaning to something relevant outside of sleep. Had they not, I would have no reason to think of them as anything more than dreams....
coldethyl
Mar 28 2007, 03:35 PM
But couldn't it have come from your subconsious?
That is where I'm having the difficulty understanding. If you're experiencing something while asleep, it'd be hard pressed to convince me that it was anything other than a dream.
I hope that if I ever have a full on experience with anything that it isn't in a dream state because then I'd think it was only a dream no matter how vivid. Know what I mean?
Lady_Anvilabeel
Mar 28 2007, 04:40 PM
Oh Yea I agree it's the case with most dreams, they are just dreams and subconscious movement or while the mind/memory defrags and re-organises. Just these couple of dreams really challenge me to look at them as more than just dreams

because of their relevance, otherwise I wouldn't consider them as something more.
coldethyl
Mar 28 2007, 06:23 PM
^ Oh yeah, that's cool. I mean you would be able to tell because you have more experience with that type of thing, but I am saying for myself. I'd never be able to tell the difference personally.
Well I don't think I'd be able to.
Lady_Anvilabeel
Mar 28 2007, 09:03 PM
At the time and after you wake up a dream is just dream, I think it's fair enough to say for anybody that most dreams connect to bits and bobs from past events/memories/current life and the rest imagination.
But then say something happens in the short term future that brings a dream into direct relevance like providing something really specific like a missing clue, answer or message and you remember back to the dream. Then that would be the type of dream you would question.

Maybe when we feel the familiar presence of a recently lost loved one...the experience is the same as that of a
phantom limb.
Maybe we create such a deep connection with an object, that when it's destroyed, our mind projects the familiar images and sensations?

yes ghosts come to you in dreams. I have never heard of ghost pets before, but um sort of along the same lines, my beloved cat is missing & I think she fell prey to a coyote. So if she has crossed over I hope to see her once in a while.

I have never seen my cats, but frequently feel them on my bed when I am lying down. I feel them jump up and then walk on the bed.

When I was around six years old our dog, pharoah, was removed from our home and euthanized because of killing a small dog that came around our yard. Being a child my parents only told me that he had a new home, not about being put to sleep. A couple of days after he was gone, I was coloring in my room while lying on my bed when I could hear pharoah's toenails clopping on the stairs, the same noise I always heard as he came up the stairs to come into my room. I looked toward my bedroom door and he came walking into my room and walked straight to the rug he liked to sleep on, did a couple of spins and laid down. I looked away for less than a second and when I looked back he wasn't there! That was 42 years ago and I can remember it so clearly.

My grandfather once had an old yellow-lab mutt names Peaches, as a child I'd always play with the dog whenever I came to visit. On day Peaches left the house and just never came back. A few years later my family was visiting my grandparents for dinner and I saw a dog I would've sworn to be Peaches come up to the door, scratching at the corner and whimpering to be let in. I ran and told my Grandpa that Peaches had come back, but by the time we got back to the front door the dog was gone. Nobody else saw the dog, just me. I still believe that it WAS my granfather's dog, I wouldn't really expect any other dog to just come right up to the door and whimper to be let in.
*Shrugs* Maybe his dog did come back and maybe it was the ghost of a beloved family pet. I really don't know but this seemed like the appropriate place to mention it.
Has anybody else had further experience with ghostly pets?

Hi All
A few years ago my Dog "Jack" died from a car accident. I loved him so much. When he was alive I used to spoil him rotten, I'd even cook him his dinner vegie included...lol
When he died I was sitting at my computer trying to find a photo that I could print out. The one I chose he had one of his toys in his mouth, I thought he look absolutely cuite. I clicked on the button but nothing happened, instead the computer, printer shut down. The very next day I walked passed the desk where I had my pc & printer to go into the kitchen to make a cuppa, the pc wasn't turned at this stage, the printer began printing out the photo I had chosen. I got cold shivers all over my body and just looked at the printer...
I broke down and cried because I got the photo's of Jack that would print out on the day he died. Aother stuff happened following that day which I believe was my buddy Jack.

Two stories.
My cousin in England said her parents very old manor house was haunted by a white cat. She had seen it many times coming down the stairs and then disappearing. The family never owned a white cat....
My sister has had several different happenings of which I have mentioned on this forum before. One of which was after her black Lab Misty was put to sleep she had several sightings of a large bright orb moving past her quickly, so quickly that you could actually feel the air move as it went past her. Also another time, her beagle Max was sitting in the kitchen and mistys old tennis ball rolled down the hall and the beagle jumped up braking like mad and chased after what ever it was that had moved the ball...

I just lost my cat "Twister" to a dog attack...she was not an outside cat, but wished very much to be one, so consequently, every time someone opened the door, alot of times she would try to get out...well...she succeeded in getting out and knowing that I would immediately bring her in, she took off into a yard a couple doors down from us...the house is empty and has been for years and there are sheds out back of it that my cats have always enjoyed hanging out at...she was stubborn and wouldnt come to me and jumped the back fence of this yard so I said "to hell with you"(cos she had made me upset that she hadn't come to me) and went back to my house....I called her and called her and called her for hours and hours, but she didn't come back until after 10 pm...she had large puncture wounds on her side and I knew what had happened. Some of our neighbors have dogs that they just let roam the neighborhood, and apparently they had found Twister...she died on St Patrick's Day...Needless to say my guilt for having gone back home instead of chasing her down and making sure she got home is unbelievable...compound that fact with the fact that she died all alone at the vets office without me there...well...I can hardly stand it...I cry every day for my kitty( I still have her mother--Lucy--I have known Twister since the moment she was born...)
I believe that she has tried to comfort me, as I will hear scratching on my bedroom door(like she used to do when she was ready to go to bed), or I will feel movement right next to me where she used to lay. I hope that it is her and I hope that she knew how much I loved her...I hope she knows I didnt mean to abandon her.
