Hi everyone, just wondering...when you are lying down/ sitting peacefully on the couch...do you hear a piercing sound allthrough your ears that fills the whole surrounding area you are in? Does anyone know what that sound is and what can you do with it? just curious, tnx...

I get a buzzing or a tone in my ears.I only notice it when everything is quiet. It can change into a high pitched sound.I know a few people that get it too.Might be tinitus though so you could mention it to a doctor.A rushing sound in your ears can be High blood pressure.

Tinnitus [Linky].
Again, caused by high blood pressure, stress, or just that your poor little ears have been subject to alot of loud noise all the time. Give your ears a little break though (especially from things like iPod's with in-ear headphones), as on very rare occations, it can become perminant. Caused by perminant damage to the ear drum. If you're not constantly hearing it, I wouldn't worry. If you do find it becoming more frequant, or irritating, consult a doctor
