This really should be in the joke section.

I'm wondering about that picture. It could be non Muslim tourists in a Muslim area that wanted a picture of themselves in the hijab and asked a passer by.

Because I did a research project of Muslim hijabi and those the wore the Nikab (the facial covering) refused to have their photograph used no matter how much I begged.

The mods can move it where they want...I figured it makes a social statement..

It's not a joke if you are a woman and you are forced to dress like that due to backward religions and cultural stupidity...

although i can see the humour in it to anybody who doesn't know much about why women wear burka's, niqabs, or hijabs. It isn't really that funny. Hate to rain on the parade here. Women aren't forced to wear modest covering by their religion, but by theocratic governments. I wear a hijab out of choice, and I feel much more comfortable around people while wearing it. I have no husband that tells me if I don't wear it I am a sinner, nor do I have a God who will punish me if I choose otherwise. I'm not trying to make this an arguement or anything, im not even offended by the picture...i'm just saying it could be religiously offensive to many.

I applaud your independence, Empress...it's appreciated that you take no offense to something that most people don't understand.

I hope you can see the humor and lighthearted manner in what I and others have said.
