I'm not sure If this is the right place for me to put this but there is no magic section of the forum. Anyway I do think that my mom has some sort of

magic powers. She makes things happen to people that tick her of in an ironic sort of way, for exaple I was giving my mom a hard time about

wasting my time on this vacation to san loius obisbo and telling her It was a waste of time and that if she wanted to go on a vacation she should

do it on her own time. right when I said "You are wasting my tim-" I tripped on a crack on the ground and stumbled or the time I was giving my

mom another hard time about some of the wrong doings she did earlier back that scared me for life(I had every right to harass her) anyway It got to the piont where I put here

down for her acne and big nose (witch is a common and steriotipical look for a witch) any way not soon after I put her down I started to get zits on

my face. anyway I know this isn't concrete proof and isnt even a very good topic but I just thought that the world needed to know.

Maybe it works in reverse as well. Be extremely nice to your mom. Compliment her. Tell her what a wonderful mother she is and maybe you will have awesome good luck !

Maybe its karma.Your being a bit mean to her so something bad happens to you.Ive had arguements with people and a day later heard something bad happened to them but i just put that down to karma. original.gif

Could be your very own self causing these things to happen, the mind is a very powerful tool, making spots appear on your own face as a punishment for being cruel to your own mother is probably a piece of cake for it! Be careful what you say lol.

Agree with "sheleven". Anyways, I don't think that this is a power. Maybe these things keep happening to you because you think she has powers therefore, you let something thats not even there control your actions. As for the acne, puberty is not pleasant.

Magic doesn't exist - it's all psychological.

I'm curious, how would you define "karma" in the first place? And where do you think it comes from?

First of all, I don't really know the specifics of the origination of karma as a widely acknowledged idea. But to me, karma is the concept that everything seems to balance itself out in the end. Obviously there was no direct correlation between this kid tripping and being mean to his mother. That's an irrational conclusion. However, you tend to reap what you sow. I don't think there's really a solid law that defines this as how things work. However, I have noticed that, overall, you tend to get back what you give. Karma goes along the lines of the golden rule that we all learned as a kid. "Treat others how you would like to be treated." In the end, good things come to people who deserve them.

I think it's just another thing meant to inspire people to be goodhearted. A person's true character is defined by how they handle a situation when nobody's looking. Karma is one more thing to try and encourage people to do what's "right". Others may interperet it differently, but that's what I pretty much have in mind when I refer to karma.

My mom has special powers too. She always seemed to know when I was doing something I shouldn't when I was growing up. blink.gif

Didn't 'karma' originate in Buddhism?

My mum told me this story, it involves karma by the sounds of it:

My aunt, apparently when she was about 16, used to take the mickey out of a boy who lived in her street. Now this boy had a hare-lip and she would shout after him and torment him, probably making his life a misery!

Ironically, when she had her own kids, the oldest daughter was fine but the youngest son, ended up with a hare-lip and cleft pallette! It was peculiar because there was no genetic reason in either her side nor her husband's why this should happen, very peculiar if you ask me!
