no browser...my screensaver home page....it just says unsolvedmysteries in the box?...and they keep popping up like it's calling me back?....it's happened 3 times in the last week...i've never seen anything like it, in my ten years of web usage....anyone else?

I had the same thing happen yesterday. How odd. I logged off and it started popping up like mad and then when I tried to close it, all sorts of windows started popping up.

I changed my mouse and it hasn't happened again.

I know this sounds crazy; but what if the computers are gaining intelligence?...or is it just a glitch?...
Saru
The key point here I think is the reference to 'Unsolved Mysteries', as oppose to 'Unexplained Mysteries', which suggests these popups are not part of this site. It sounds like you have some sort of spyware or adware on your computer that is using this site's title as keywords for producing related adverts.

Without seeing an example it's difficult to say for sure, I've tried logging out several times but couldn't reproduce it and i've never heard of anything like it before. If you see it again, take down as many details as possible and let me know, a screenshot would also be good if you can get one.

I was mistaken it said unexplained mysteries...it was while zero programs were running..it was odd is all i'll say..

What was the URL being displayed in the boxes ? Was it the UM home page or something else ?

Have you only ever experienced this when viewing the site as your 'screensaver home page' ?

I think they've already accessed it...sorry for double post..

Sorry for the confusion, I misinterpreted what you were saying earlier about not having a browser running.

If the pop up windows suddenly open up out of the blue when you aren't even doing anything then it sounds like you have some sort of spyware/adware running in the background. These windows can't be originating from this web site if you have no browser open at the time.

Try running anti-virus/anti-spyware software to see if they can pick anything up. If you are familiar with the Windows process list try having a look in there for anything running that looks as though it shouldn't be there too.

If you're not familiar with them, then I highly recommend Sysinternal's Process Explorer (Which is a free download from Microsoft's website) - especially as it has a description and an associated company name for all common running processes, and the ability to quickly search the internet for those processes that it can't identify.
