Dante's Inferno
This excerpt was taken fron the Bangkok Post newspaper this morning(8.3.07):

Wanted but not welcome.

Fillipino Muslims display a banner and T-shirts with a wanted sign during a rally yesterday, at a downtown Manilla square, to protest recent televised preaching by Christian sect leader Eli Soriano, who alleges that Muslims are killers. More than 1,000 Muslims took part in the rally and demanded Mr.Soriano, who is currently in hiding, be extradited back to the Phillipines so he can face charges being brought against him.

Why the contradiction? Well the Muslims who took offence at being called killers were carrying a banner that read in large red print....
'BEHEAD THOSE WHO INSULT ISLAM'!!

I find this totally bewildering that religious people who take offence at being labelled killers then go out into the street and demand that the accussors be killed!! What do other people think of this? By the way sorry I can't seem to upload the photo that accompanies the story but I assure you its in the paper.

Sure, I am a Christian and have been insulted and mocked for my faith and never would want to have someones head for it. I tell you, I watched the beheading of Pearl and something changes in your soul when you see such a thing. To them it is a glory to Allah. My Serbian ancestors had songs they would sing, I never understood them as a boy. As I learned some of the language I realized these songs were all about the Horrors that the Muslim invaders brought to my Grandfather's land in the 1400's. I cannot post here what those songs tell of. I cannot understand it all, to me it is just insanity. Time for another prozac.

In the end people allways show their true colors. Hypocrosy and selfrighousness know no bounds.

I agree totally and it makes me wonder about why many Muslims from around the world are falling into the existing negative stereotypes. When the pope referred to the notion that Islam was spread through violence how did many Muslims react? By viloently protesting around the world!Yet another contradiction! The world desperately needs more Muslim intellects and scholars do stand up and denounce the peopl from their own religions who are feeding the fires of discontend.

There are allways a few bad seeds in every religion and allways will be. But two wrongs dont make a right. The more you denounce those who dont follow your ideals or how you feel things should be run the more you turn into those you are trying to eradicate. Take away the religion or the politics or the even the societies or morality ideals you still have the same person who will do what he feels is right in his own mind. Most just use such to influence or spread their ideals on how things should be. All in all, everyone has a selfrightous point of view because in defenition it is what you yourself believe to be right. Until the self-ego is smited this will allways be.

Is it okay to judge 1.2 billion followers of a certain faith by a few thousand protestors who are not following the true meaning of their religion?

No. And they are following the true meaning of their religion. Its not the same religion as the other 1.2 billion followers because it is not their belief. Look at Satanists and Christians, both believe in the same Satan, Christ and God but the religion is different even though they have the same spiritual dieties in it.

I can not find the article itself, at the Bangkok Post site, however I think it incredible that this man would comment on what radical muslims make so obvious in displaying a banner that says:'BEHEAD THOSE WHO INSULT ISLAM'!! , and now people want him dead also for speaking the obvious. That those that support this position are indeed killers. Radical muslims insult islam. If those that are so angry about this reverend would put that kind of effort into protesting those that give islam that image, we might see things change.

Unfortunately the atricle is about page 2 or 3 in the actual newspaper and cannot be accessed online I did try. It is interesting to note that as I am both shocked and dismayed at these people agressive response I also cannot accept a so called leader or preacher making such a deflamatory statement about people of a different religion to his own!
