Why is it that on the back of PS3 game boxes, it says the resolution is 720p? Isn't it supposed to read as: 720p/1080i/1080p like most Xbox 360 games?

Everyone says that all PS3 games are 1080p, is that even true?

Well I'm going to take a stab in the dark here and say that those games that only specify 720p can only output in 720p. wink2.gif

Which makes the answers to your second and third questions, logically speaking, "no".

The PS3 can support 1080p but its not the standard likely most the games that will be released on the PS3 will be 720p.

1080p sounds better because it's a bigger number but 720p normally looks better. The reason being most companies don't support 1080p yet and a few machines upconvert the image to 1080p... which can have some distortion. Give it a year or two and most games/movies will have a native resolution of 1080p.....

Thank you for clearing that up.
