Legend of Zelda Twillight Princess:

I love every LOZ game there is but was horribly
disapointed from the time i turn on the game.
First of the people are too detailed, and quests too
boring and easy. It is not a bad game alone, but
I wanted to play a LOZ game, this game felt like a
Shadow of The Colosses clone. Most of the bosses
are copies of ones from other games! After a few
hours i ripped the disc out of my Wii and went
back to playing LOZ Wind Waker.......I hope
Nintendo doesn't fudge up next time.
Claizen
Hmm hard to say. Uhh...Battlefield 2 on the 360 was horrible!
The Three Ventriloquists
Its hard to say there are so many overhyped games out thee but i would have to say the GTA ports to the psp not that they were bad its just that the whole GTA "thing" is getting old.
BurnSide
You're completely nuts. Twilight Princess is an utterly incredible game. But you should have known what you were getting. First and foremost it is, almost in it's entirety, a remake of Orcarina of Time. The temples, the same. Dungeons, towns, bosses, all the same. With just crazy updated graphics and an utterly amazing control system. It's beautiful to look at, some parts of the game such as stepping into the Temple of Time made me literally gasp out loud. And some of the bosses and enemies were really original, such as the boss of the Sand Temple, where you can to continually jump from rail to rail going up and around a massive pillar on the spinning top. It's a remake, but it has so many new features and such a terrific indepth story it almost feels like new.
Windwaker was also great, for all the exact same reasons. But at it's core, the only things different from Orcarina are the graphics and the ocean. Again, everything is identical. That's the way the Zelda games are, they're all just an updated version of a pervious game.
I'm sorry, but if you can't enjoy Twilight Princess, you should probably stop gaming now.
But that's just my opinions on the matter, you're of course entitled to your own. original.gif

My recent dissapointments include:

Tony Hawk: Project 8.
Just about the worst game i have played in quite awhile. I'm an utter die-hard TH fan, i've even won competitions and tourneys with TH4 and THUG. I loved these games, so much, up to and including THUG. THUG2 was really horrible, and Wasteland was a step in the right direction, but still sloppy and rushed.
Project 8 is nothing but a pile of glitches, terrible controls and unimaginative goals piled into a blender and then spread onto a disk. I have heard and read that the PS3 version is pretty good, with better graphics, more features and customizations, and a streaming city instead of small levels. But for the PS2 version, it's worse than vomiting. There's barely any create-a-skater options, literally none at all, and no females to boot. No create-a-park, extremely limited 2-player modes, etc the list goes on. Career mode is so stupidly hard this time around even i have trouble with some of the goals, and it's extremely boring, all the goals are just slightly harder versions of previous goals, and there is no story to really speak of.
I'd probably give it a 2/10. And i was really excited to play it too. sad.gif
Jack_of_Blades
I actually wished it was exactly the same as Orcarina of Time
it's just between Midna, Zant, and Ordon it doesn't keep me
interested. Hands down it is still one of the most beautiful
games i have ever played.

Fable would of been the #1 worst game i ever played
i was just very lucky and missed all of the hype.
punish3ment
Mine would deffinatley have to be Tony Hawks Downhill Jam on wii. From the reviews and videos I saw it looked to be a fun game, but hands on it was s**t. The controls are too dodgy and the game is too easy. I'd give this a 3/10

I gave up playing online games about two years ago because of all the aim-bots, wall hacks, and other B.S. you gotta put up with.
I was even banned from a couple COD servers because I was doing to good, and they accused me of cheating. Leave it to idiots to ruin a good thing.
It was a total blast at first.

Same, I just don't see any point in it.

Medal of Honor: European Assualt. I guesse I expected more because I had being playing the other two a lot and then bought that and was like "BLAH!!"..
Neo2005
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 for the Wii.
I'm gonna say first of that where I have my Wii set up puts me at a disadvantage but the game has much to many flaws and controll issues.
Im a huge golf fan and love the TW franchise but this game just did not work, it was rushed and how bad it plays makes me think it was a launch title that they just held back on the shelves until march.
demonhuntergeneral
The Fifa football series by EA sports always disappoints me. they have all the official licenses and teams but the game play cant get anywhere near pro evolution soccer's. it always seems to be like the players are gliding around the pitch, terrible! no.gif

gabe
I had been hearing about tetris for years and that "everyone has played it at some point in their life", so I decided to check it out... Man, was that a let down
Ciraxis
Barbie horse adventures, it just wasn't the game i thought it was gonna be. what a waste.
JeremyGTS
TMNT on NES! it was too hard and you just end up giving up!

oh and need for speed carbon for wii the controls were great loved the steering wheel feeling but the only thing im upset with there was not Corolla GTS sad.gif

as for tiger woods... that game is pretty good not too good at golf but id ike to say its more realistic than wii sports golf
and the putting is the only thing i hate in tigerwoods

seeking
Virtua Fighter 5 for the ps3

horrible game, i thought hey might as well get this, tekken is really good, virtua fighter must be too if its tekkens biggest compettion...boy was i wrong
Hawkmason
Madden 07 for 360 and PS3

WOW what a let down, they pretty much stripped everything good about madden

the franchise mode sucked the create a player sucked, couldnt edit your players (hated most)

they just complelty went backwards

also Halo series

all i heard was how awesome halo was by all my friends and when i played my first reaction was "sooo what is better than Unreal,Quake or red faction?"

Halo=most overrated FPS ever
E.B.E.
Tomb Raider:Angel Of Darkness

I read months of previews thinking this game was going to be amazing and ignored reviews saying it was rubbish.
RougeRat
Tekken5. Holy crap, that game was terrible. Why is it that Tekken 2 seems to be more fluid than Tekken 5? It makes no sense. DOA4 was also nothing special. I'm not really into online play either. DOA3 was incredibally dissapointing. There were barely any costumes to even get. The game was boring.

Also, Tales of the Abyss. It started off as a RPG that strayed a bit from the norm. However, after a certain event, the main character went from somewhat unique to being a completely mindless drone. Typical RPG hero. Also, all of the side characters were annoying beyond the norm. The game basically preached conformity as well which I found unsettling.
Shadow Dweller
Doom 3.

not sure about the rest of the world, but i like to be able to see my games.
cryptosporidium137
Probably the console version of The Sims. It's not the same thing as it was on the computer. It actually made me wish that I had bought it on the PC instead. Another would have to be Spider Man 2 for the PSP. Oh god, another game that just wasn't the same as it was on a different system. I was hoping to be able to free-roam and do missions when you want to, like on the other systems. Instead, it is just levels, and no free-roam. All they had to do was just take away some parts of the city if it was too much. They can fit GTA on a PSP, so they could also probably fit this game.

tyler t.
most dissapointing games ive played-1. Bad Boys II for Xbox, N64 has better graphics then this game
2. MI: Operation surma for xbox, it mooches from splinter cell
3. Cabelas outdoor adventures 2005 for Xbox
There are countless other ones.....Lets keep the list going guys lol

Final Fantasy X. A lot of the older gamers complain about VII being all about graphics and not being as good as the old ones, but if they really want to complain about that FFX is the epitome of being mostly about the graphics.

THUG2. THUG was a great game, and help to break up some of the repetition that the previous Hawk games had be including an interesting story and lots of stuff to do. THUG2, on the other hand, was mostly about giving Bam plenty of screen time and just being as stupid as humanly possible. Then, to make it worse, Project 8 didn't really add anything that they older (1-4) Hawk games didn't have. Activision, stop. Please, just stop.

Really? I felt XII was excellent, and actually focused on being an rpg (as opposed to X which just rushed you from one cutscene to the next).
I do agree with you about LotRO, though. Can we just stop whoring Tolkien's material now?

Yeah bro, I'm so used to the Final Fantasy turn based gameplay. To me 12 was a total let down, and I got decently far in the game.

No one has mentioned the Dynasty Warriors series? Haha looks more repetive than Tony Hawk.

Mario Sunshine-Good enough game but wasn't expecting more then a Mario 64 sequel...like something big.

Fable-Good game but was hyped to be the end all be all of RPGs.

Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire-Silver and Gold had two whole continents to explore(16 badges)...was expecting that and the return of a few other things that Silver/Gold had that Ruby/Sapphire didn't.

Halo 2-Was only disappointed in the ending...I would have bin fine with it if it wasn't for all the advertisements that made it seem that there was going to be this big battle that took place on earth and I had to defend it.

Final Fantasy X2- FF10 is my second favorite Final Fantasy game...it's sequel was buttered poo.

Goldeneye: Rouge Agent: One of the best selling games ever and the best multiplayer console shooter for its time produces an unforgivable hell spawn.

There are a lot of games that I was disappointed in but these are the games are one thats that suprised me in how disappointing they where.
Briggles
Oblivion: Shivering Isles exp pack. Such a let down after the main game and the 1st add on (kinghts of the nine) were fantastic.

Many of these have been said before, but here are a few of my most disappointed games of all time:

Gun: It was a really great game, very unique, gory, exciting, story driven, but SHORT. I spent $50 for this when it came out and had it beat the very next day, ten hours later. I had 100% completion in less than 20 hours.

Final Fantasy X-2: Although I'm not as much of a fan boy of FFX as many people are (some argue it's as good as FFVII while others think it is horrible), I can resonably say that FFX is a decent game. FFX-2, on the other hand, was just plain garbage. I tried to go beyond five hours of this barbie-dress-up game, but I couldn't because of all the girls giggling and the powderpuff everywhere.

Red Steel: Again, while not completely bad, the controls were just not what I thought they'd be. The preview for this game made it look remarkable, and was probably the reason I and many others rushed out to buy a Wii. Too bad it wasn't what it was thought (or meant) to be.

The Matrix - Path of Neo: This game was just stupid. I hated the parts where Neo fought "giant ants in an alternate dimension" and all that other crap. Plus it took forever to pull off those incredible Matrix moves that by the time you did pull them off they weren't so incredible anymore.

Silent Hill 4: This wasn't the game I thought it would be. It took all the great elements of Silent Hill and threw them out the window.

Perfect Dark Zero: This is probably the worst launch title for any system: it looks pretty, and the multiplayer is nice when you have a lot of friends, but everything else is just bleh.

Medal of Honor - Rising Sun: Following MoH Frontline and its previous masterpieces, Rising Sun fixed brought more bugs and problems into the MoH series than those fixed; Fighting in the Pacific would be fun, but Rising Sun had the Japs slashing at you with a sword, shrugging off several bullets to the head before falling down. If they were really like this, then I see reason why we dropped the bombs.

Tomb Raider - Angel of Darkness: The Tomb Raider games (before Legends and Anniversary) had never had good controls, but in those early days of Playstation gaming, we were forgiving. By the time Angel of Darkness rolled around, the controls were so screwed up, Eidos couldn't even play the game.

I can only think of one game that really disappointed me in recent times.

Gears Of War ( 360 )

This one will probably get me killed...

Oh sure it looks GREAT and is possibly one of the best looking games out in the market. And I feel thats all this game has going for it.
I found it boring, repetitive, and very linear. I know this game is very popular and many people like it. And for that, I really dont get it. In my opinion, it was the most overly hyped game for the 360 for its time. And while I found the game to have superb graphics, I just didnt find it any fun. I honestly believe this game only did as well as it did cuz of how great its graphics are. Not a knock on any GOW fans btw.

the dating game. real life not the show. I've had some disappointing dates !

That bag of crud that is Doom 3

OK, it had a lot of potential, a good-ish storyline and bits that really freaked me out but it was so predictable! It got monotonous after a while.

Try Condemned:Criminal Origins. That had me almost soiling myself with terror

Jade empire, after reading reviews I couldn't believe it was the same game I was playing. Boring characters, too much dialogue, dire story, button bashing fights and to think these guys made star wars kotor.

Fable also, it was a good game but really did not live up to what they promised,it was too short and easy for one thing. And was really no reason to do all the side stuff like own a house and get married.

And while not a dissapointment as such but I expected alot more, zelda TP. I was expecting this to be alot more epic, even though the main game was short(mainly because it was rediculously easy) but I never felt the urge to get all the secrets like in the older zelda games, well for one those extra hearts helped, but in this game you didn't need them.

Tomb Raider Angel of Darkness. I am a huge TR fan but this game was awful. It was like a whole other game. The gameplay was terrible, the graphics, the story all bad. I played this game for about an hour and that was it.

THUG2 - I am also a big Tony Hawk fan but I thought this game was obnoxious and too hard. I wanted to play this game to skate - not be forced to ride around on a mechanical bull ridden by that guy from Jackass.

Area 51. Hated it.

My favorite games this year has to be God of WarI and II.
