OK, so this is doing my head in.

In the late 90's early 2000's there was a US TV comedy shown on (uk) BBC2 or Channel 4. It was about a writer who lived in this apartment, and he had a goofy room mate. There was a lawyer type guy who called around who looked alot like Francis from Malcolm in the middle or like Neil Patrick Harris...there was also a woman in it who looked alot like Reese Witherspoon. I have done a search and can't find it anywhere.

The main character was a guy with dark curly hair and a moustache I think...he fancied a girl who worked in a local cafe...he looked italian.

He was sort of a recluse. Its really annoying me trying to remember the name of it. I am sure that the word SHOT or SHOOT was in the title.

Thanks.

I'm wondering.... was it Mad About You with Paul Riser (dark curly hair) and Helen Hunt? He was actually a documentary producer. He wasn't really a recluse though, and Helen Hunt played his wife, she's blonde. They had a goofy friend who was a lawyer, but I can't remember who played the role. There was also a sister of Helen Hunts character that was constantly at their apartment like she lived there--she was wacky.

Part of the ongoing storyline took place at a Cafe, and there was a blonde waitress played by Lisa Kudrow. That character eventually became Ursula, Phoebie's twin sister on Friends.

The only show I can recall with Shoot or Shot in it would be "Just Shoot Me" but that is a sitcom that takes place at a Magazine publishers. There weren't any roommates, and the only person that could have been identified as a writer would have been the main character played by Laura SanGiancomo. David Spade played the office receptionist.
