Greetings!

I have joined this forum along with several others, because of this story. We are the current owners of the Vennum House, where Lurancy Vennum was raised, and where this story took place.

I can confirm that the Booth Brothers did film within my house, as well as interviews with myself and my family. Keith Age, the "Rock and Roll Ghost Hunter" brought his equipment and did a sweep of the upstairs area in and around the bedroom of Lurancy's. We found the entire experience to be exciting and informative. Everyone was highly professional and obviously masters within their craft. My family got to see Keith in action and watch every step of the way. Nothing was made up here. And we were suprised at his results. The data is being processed- and will be available when the show airs.

As for a movie- the Booth Brothers have said that it is currently in development, and they will do everything in their power to have it filmed in Watseka. But the documentary, 'Children of the Grave' is what the were filming form and it is scheduled for release later this year.

I have started a website that is dedicated to this story http://thevennumhouse.com/

Please visit for more information, as I will update it on the documentary as well as the film. I am personally on touch with the Booth Brothers.

Thanks again.

(Sorry for the post in the other forum- I wanted it here. Still a newbie!)

A commendable selection...is the house cleansed? a disturbance of this magnatude often requires spiritual guidence that can only be offered by one such as the "Rock and Roll Ghost Hunter"...... B

My Personal Haunting Watseka Wonder Experience

"A story appeared recently at the Times-Republic Online, and
since it is almost Halloween, I thought it was time to share a personal haunting
experience that occurred almost 30-years ago."

Just a quick note. I was back visiting in Watseka in February - GO WARRIORS! -
and heard about the Watseka Wonder being a hot topic again. I worked at the
paper when St. Clair's book came out.

In my youth I delivered newspapers all over town and for the life of me cannot
recall where the Vennum House is located. (I'm thinking near Quality Market;
am I wrong?).

The Looker family owned the Rolf house at the time of my experience(s).

I believe THE WATSEKA WONDER is legit and worthy of the attention.

Looking forward to the program that's in development.
