Uhh her dad would be a real life human being IAMS..there is a big difference in a persons dad..and what you wanna believe is your dad...

If someone says they spit in the face of God..that dont mean they can actually do this LOL God is something we that follow him..just hold as a belief...not the same as a real dad here on earth

The feeling is the same either way, BM. It's still unnecessarily insulting something someone else holds dear. The rules SaRu has so conveniently now placed at the top of each page clearly cover not bashing specific religions.

Question to you if you don't mind

Do you feel its right for some chrsitans to claim their God is responcible for tragic deaths ie the 9/11 or something like ...............

Blew up the shuttle did he indeed??

this guy is a christian but makes claims of God being responcible..along with many others like him...and sad acts getting children to hold up their hate signs.........and if God HATES America..then he must hate you all that live there including you christians...thats saying if you BELEIVE this clap trap

So..can you tell me if you agree with this??

Frankly, I think these people are nuts, BM. I could go into a whole rigmarole about why, but basically, their leaders are nuts and these people are misguided.

sh** happens. People search for reasons for horrible things to make sense out of them. God's an easy thing to put it on. However, extrapolating an act of God from a tragedy in our nation's history is both blasphemy and bull.

I respect your views

But tell me do you believe that God has killed??

In my honest opinion I believe that God has killed. His word even declares that He has. Do I believe that he has murdered?...no I do not.

true, would you be upset if I insulted your Dad? Would it be proper for me to do so, just because I disagreed with him?

Actually no, my father is a horrible person. I'd probably agree with you. Would it be proper to do so? It depends. If I say that I think Saddam Hussein is a sadistic (rhymes with tick) because he decapitated a woman in front of her children to teach them a lesson about speaking blasphemy against him, then I'd probably agree with you.

I don't speak my mind about your religious beliefs as long as they are not set before me to examine. You keep your scripture as your own personal guide and I can respect that. You set them before me to show me what God supposedly said and I feel that I must speak out that these kinds of ideas are horrid to me.

Try going back and reading it as something said by Hitler or Stalin of Saddam instead of God and it will sound eerily familiar to you.
Ferran the Skeptic
We respect you and your belief, but you need to respect us and our nonbelief.

We dont think you are stupid or inferior for believing in your God (well....most of you...but there are idiots in every walk of life), and its unkind to believe us bitter, amoral heathen for not believing.

I dont believe that God is a murderer. I believe that He has killed because He states that in His word. If a man were to go to war to fight for his country would you look at him as a murder?. If He was truly fighting for the better of his country and people would you call him a murderer?. If His intentions were to protect the very lives that you hold dear too would you consider him a murderer for killing another human being?. I wouldnt and I dont think God would either. God is a just God and delivers justly to men. I feel that God would kill to better protect his people but not by murdering someone. Do i know that he hasnt killed innocents?...no and to say that I do would be folly. I read an article by rich deem and it really made me think about the character of God. Id like to share it with you guys and I will provide a link to the website in case you want to look at it.

Heres an excerpt from Where was God During the World Trade Center Attack?

s of this writing, it appears that ~4,000 people lost their lives in the attack on the World Trade Center. While this sounds like a large number of people (and it is the largest loss of life due to single terrorist attack), it represents only a small percentage of the people who could have died in those towers. A total of 50,000 people worked in the World Trade Center towers at the time of the attack. In addition, it was reported that 100,000 people visited the towers every day. This means that at least 90% of everybody in the towers at the time of the attack escaped alive! This sounds like a miracle to me. There are some other remarkable facts to consider. The first tower that was hit stood standing 45 minutes longer than the second tower, allowing more time for those who had no warning to escape. After the attack on the first tower, people in the second tower immediately began to leave, despite the announcement by management that everything was safe and under control. People interviewed later reported that they "felt" that they should leave. Did God communicate to tens of thousands of people to warn them to escape? It seems likely, since people usually listen to and follow the advice of authorities. In watching the crash of the second airliner into the second tower, it seems remarkable that the tower did not collapse immediately. There was a huge explosion that engulfed several floors of the tower at once. Did God miraculously sustain the tower for an additional 30 minutes to allow people to escape? Given these circumstances, it seems likely that God miraculously intervened to limit the death toll in the attack on the World Trade Center towers.

The third airliner crashed into the Pentagon. However, the side of the building hit was under renovation, limiting the loss of life. If the terrorists had crashed directly into the Pentagon from the original direction of flight (the plane had passed the Pentagon and made a 270 degree turn prior to impact), the loss of life would have been ten times greater. Was God involved in this?

The fourth airliner did not even reach its intended destination (probably the Capitol Building in Washington D.C.). Although God did not bring down this airliner directly, His people were involved in thwarting the attempt at mass destruction. Todd Beamer, a graduate of Wheaton College, a dedicated Christian who taught Sunday School, led a charge against the hijackers who had commandeered flight 93, resulting in the plane crashing into an unpopulated field outside of Pittsburgh. As it turned out, the plane crashed just 2 miles from an elementary school. Was God involved in steering the airliner away from the school?

Has God been involved with the events subsequent to September 11? The attack has turned people from their selfishness to seek God and get involved in helping the victims of the families. The following Sunday, we had standing room only attendance at Sierra Madre Congregational Church, as did nearly every church in the nation. People lined up for hours to donate blood at the Red Cross. The Red Cross had been requesting for more donors for months before this with no success. People, organizations, movie stars, and even websites have banded together to raise funds for relief agencies and the families of the victims. God has been working in the hearts of people to get more involved with each other and helping those who are less fortunate. The shock of this evil atrocity has made people realize that their own petty problems are minor in comparison to the plight of others, and helped people to see how really fortunate they are.

A member of our church choir related a minor miracle that resulted from this attack. Heather and her family were living temporarily in an apartment complex, which, being in Southern California, consisted of many different races and ethnic backgrounds. After the attack, all the Middle eastern children stopped playing outside, and their parents were nowhere to be seen. The Saturday after the attack, Heather and her children knocked on all the doors of the complex and invited the people to a time of prayer near the swimming pool. Many dozens of people showed up, including families with Middle Eastern background. They admitted that they were afraid of reprisals and were staying out of site. They all prayed and shared together - something that would have never happened if the attack had never taken place. The people of that apartment complex are now acting as a family of God, united to help and care about each other.

Where was God in the attack on the World Trade Center? He was there all along!

You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. (Genesis 50:20)

I also believe that evil is at work on these forums in many threads, but I do not feel threatened by them to much.
I will never preach, or attempt to convert anyone as I believe that is a personal choice. To each his own. original.gif

It's sad to think that evil lurks within our much-loved UM Forums....I agree with everything you said and what you may describe as 'evil', is just people like you and I expressing their views and opinions.... original.gif

Nothing evil about that......
