Does anyone remember, before adultswim came along on cartoonnetwork... mellow.gif

There was a cartoon called "O Canada" that came on at night?... mellow.gif

Most disturbing? Alas, I cannot say lest some pre-pubescent goes and googles it.

Though, South Park disturbs me at times...

Like when Cartman convinced Butters to fake his own death by jumping off a building. But instead of Butters jumping they threw a pig over and it's guts sprayed all over his parents. Then his father buried his son (the pig) in a pet cemetary thinking he'd come back to life. Then when Butters came back home his parents thought he was a zombie so locked him in the cellar and tried to feed him corpses, but all he wanted was some SpaghettiO's.

w00t.gif I'm sad to say that I haven't seen that episode. It sounds as though it was greatly amusing. I would have to say though, that the most disturbing cartoon that I have seen, was the new Ren and Stimpy shows. (They aired right before Gary the Rat...Kelsey Grammer) I really loved the old episodes, but the new ones, with them being lovers....it quite disturbed me.

Awww, they finally hooked up? How sweet wub.gif

Offhand,I'd have to say the "Happy Tree Friends" can be quite disturbing.

Man, I love that episode. laugh.gif

Most disturbing to me is.....well, I don't even know anymore.
Shakezulah
Happy Tree Friends is pretty disturbing. Although, I love that kinda stuff.
jesspy
depends on disturbing

if you mean as in "shocking and breaking the barriers"
mine would be south park
I dont have pay tv so there fore dont get Adult swim
disturbing as in "this is nuts oh my god im scared and embrassed for these people" then that would be this weird japanese cartoon where it was crazy and had alot of adult content

anyhoo
most disturbing comic book cartoon thing as in "this is nuts oh my god im scared and embrassed for these people"
would be that weird Mysteries of or world its scifi and has cartoons depicting the past as well as the future it was made in the 1960s anyhoo there is a cartoon based in the year 3000 and there are aliens that look like jellybeans with legs anyhoo the scene that disturbed me most was a little square dipicting the guys wife.......oh my god i cant write it okay here it goes it shows that guys wife in the kitchen ......oh my get this she was washing the dishes as usual in almost every scene she was in it was based in the kitchen it was awful after 1000 year syou would hav hoped they woman would nt be in the kitchen let alone us not needing kitchens

but yeah i thought From hell was adisturbing graphic novel

chaoszerg
Fritz the cat................... I will never ever want to see that again.

Hmmm....
some of the stuff off the Animatrix, though old, still makes me a little bit uncomfortable.

I think that cartoon "The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy". I've only ever seen one episode, and I think it would make little children stay awake for weeks. This dumb kid attempts to sell chocolate door to door, but ends up eating it all. Eventually, he himself turns into chocolate, eats most of himself, then explodes from eating more chocolate.
ToxicLogic
No one really metioned any old cartoons. Everyone is talking about how disturbing cartoons are these days for kids. Has anyone thought back to cartoons 10-20-30 years ago? Popeye was always beating Bruno up over and anerexic girl; Sylvester was always trying to eat Tweety; Tom was always trying to eat Jerry, who was beating him right back; Wile E Coyote was always trying to get RoadRunner, which always got him. And so on and so on. Really, other then adding some blood and unforunitally fowl language, they main ones are basically the same (not including AdultSwim on Cartoon Network, I've seen those, those are disturbing)
Sweetpumper
Remember that Underdog got his powers when he popped pills! How would that go over nowadays? LOL!
MissMelsWell
I love Southpark most of the time, but there are episodes that really really bug me and I can't watch them.

Other than that, there's really nothing on Adult Swim that totally offends me... although I think this new Mole Man thing is dumb and I don't like those two guys who did Tom Goes to the Mayor (or whatever it was) and Assy McGee is pretty stupid. But oddly I like Frisky Dingo.

The absolute MOST disturbing cartoons I've ever seen have not been shown on Televison. The most disgusting and repulsive stuff you'd ever want to see can be watched at the Spike and Mikes Twisted Animation Film Festivals. Some towns and theaters will not show the feature length movies which are comprised of animated shorts. They are typically rated NC17 and for good reason. Personally, I still go to see them, but there are some segments I can't watch.

Beevis and Butthead as well as Ren and Stimpy got their start and gained their popularity with Spike and Mikes. They were always some of the tamer shorts included in the festival. I don't think I've actually ever seen the original Beevis and Butthead outside the film festival... that short included Beevis, Butthead, and Hank Hilll and family from King of the Hill. It's about 18 years old now.

The only other one I can think of that really freaks me out is Jimmy Neutron... that show just gives me the serious creeps. rofl.gif

I LOVE that show. And I like Mandy & Grim the most. <3

"Ren & Stempy" or however it's spelt. I can't believe I spent half of my younger years. Watching that show. When I started to grow out of it. It gave me headaches. >.< Gawd, that show was so gross! Ew!

I remember Ren and Stimpy. When I first saw it, when I was about 5, I cried my eyes out. There was another TV show, "Mega Babies" or soemthing, Its about this group of babies who fight criminals by covering them in snot. It made me throw up
monkeygobyebye
Probably not the answer you were looking for, but allot of that stuff in The Animatrix kinda' creeped me out.
Or anything from Eon Flux.
Zoe Rose
"South Park"? "Happy Tree Friends"? That's nothing compared to "Bratz". (shudder)

Uh...have you guys ever seen any cartoons from Japan???

You don't know disturbing until you have seen those.
Dr. Strangelove
Watch "End of Evangelion" then get back to me.

only because I make you watch them! laugh.gif

MoonPrincess I love your avatar
Trinity Blood is awesome.

The most disturbing cartoon I've ever seen would have to be one of the later Ren and Stimpy's
Y'know when it was taken over by that guy and they turned even more pointlessly disturbing.
at least the earlier ones had a plot... sorta
Ciraxis
south park is great.
~TheArtOfContact~
There were a few in the Animatrix... that struck me as disturbing...

Japanese anime? Some of them aren't all bad. :/ Some of them are pretty good. disgust.gif I ignore the ones I hate.
Claizen
Hmmm. Someone mentioned "The Grim Adventures of Bill and Mandy"
I would also like to add "Invader ZIM"

Both cartoons are kind of too dark for the intended younger audiences. When I was younger, I would watch Invader ZIM and tried to understand the complete randomness of it all. Now, I crack up whenever I see it, because now I know that alot if it is just randomness.

Kinda of the same for The Grim Adventures, some of the jokes like "Its partially hydrogenated!" I dont think kids would understand what that means grin2.gif
Mabon
Wicked City, hands down as the most disturbing cartoon. *shudders* Inter-dimensional-alien-tentacled-bug-eyed-beasties and the police that are trying to stop them from coming into this dimension. Had every thing right to set off the creep-o-meter. *shudders again* Imagine, Lovecraft+Men in Black without the funny.

Pulling covers up over my head,
Mabon.
Ring Tailed Lemur
The next episode previews for Hellsing kinda creeped me out. Here's one of the most distubing. O.o

Yaaaaa Ethyl, I know exactly the ones you're talking about, I've accidentally come across some of those on the internet (there's an actual "genre" assigned to them)... I don't even ever want to meet the freaks that spend hundreds of hours drawing and producing those. *shudders too* I'm no prude, but that stuff is gross.

And Evangeleon isn't that bad.

There is a difference form then and now...Form back then they are very similar to every day scenarios... mellow.gif

Popeye and Bruno are just your normal guys that real boys did back then, but set for children at the ages 8 and up... mellow.gif

Tom & Jerry, Sylverter and Tweety was a humorous twist in a cartoons from reality...(We all ready know what would happen with a real cat, mouse and bird...The cat would win). mellow.gif

So tell me this, whats is your point of view that you find these cartoons disturbing besides the fighting?... mellow.gif

South Park is still abit disturbers to me... unsure.gif
The Mule
I don't know about "disturbing"... but marrionettes kinda freak me out....
Affliction
I'd say that Ren and Stimpy takes the cake, cartoons like south park are just dirty and odd, not disturbing.
MadMachine
I've seen many cartoons with much potential for being disturbing.
The only one that's actually disturbed me though, was an episode of South Park featuring Paris Hilton.
KBA
Probably stuff by david firth.

LOL I'm going to have to agree. Blues clues also disturbs me.
Uh-Oh
Scott Tenorman Must Die was pretty disturbing. I never actually watched a cartoon series with a lot of episodes that bothered me. It's usually only one or two here and there.
Ashigaru
There are quite a few I probably cant mention because of google. Elfen Lied was pretty disturbing, after all you do see a kid get her head cut off.
Mishari
Southpark is just annoying i dont know why its still even on tv
black dahlia 83
I can't remember what the cartoon was called. I was about 8 or so and my parents hired a video from the store and it was these cavemen and stuff we got a little into it and all I remember is my mum diving for the remote and turning it off. Aparently it wasnt for young eyes...?

Anyway the cartoon that disturbes me the most in Drawn Together it is serioulsy sick and twisted I dont know how many times I've nearly thrown up.

I second that, the entire show was disturbing, wrong and twisted, I think the creators just wanted it to make people uncomfortable.

Ren and Stimpy, no doubt.

Don't get me wrong, I liked the series but there were some parts that were really ****ed up.
