i used to go to church when i was younger, but i was young, i didnt ask questions like i do now, why do u believe in god?

Q1 why does god let all the sick children die?
Q2 why are all the bad things that happen to the world, gods work, a message about some bad thing we did?
Q3 why are there people, sitting in alleys, people getting mugged, starving to death?
Q4 why ARE all the bad things happening, when god could change them with a wave of his hand!?

thats all the time i have today, please, one of u believers answr my questions.

Well, as my mum answered me:
Death is merciful to the sick kids.
God punishes evil with bad consequences.
They are pagan or heathens and deserve to suffer.
To teach us we must pray to have the bad things ended.

Yes, a cop out, and no I don't think that is a good answer, just one from a devout believer.

I'll give my answer from a quote from Futurama tongue.gif.

"If you do too much, they become dependent, if you do too little they stop believing. When you do things right, people wont be sure you've done anything at all."

Whose to say God actually cares or wants to be involved in our lives. If God is real maybe God just created us and moved on.

A lot of people often wonder why God lets bad things happen. The way I see it, God gave us free will, as we all know. (Unless of course, for the people who don't believe in God) Since we have this free will, it is our lives and we are in control. Not God's control, but whatever happens on this earth. Through prophets, people have spoken to God but God does not exactly interact physically because this is our free will. Our free will to do anything. That's why evil people aren't suddenly struck down by God. Sick children die because it's just the normal course of this world.
Geographically, If God let everyone live, then Earth gets overpopulated and even more could suffer.
That wasn't too clear but this is a bit more.
Maybe God could change everything with the wave of his hand but think of Earth as a test before we are accepted into Heaven:
1. Can we live our lives without expecting God to do everything for us?
2. The chance to control our free will by using good means, (making friends, being to nice to everyone you know etc.) and show God that we are good people.
And hey, even it's not the meaning of life, it would still make sense to see who lives by the word of God.
I'm still too young, sorry I couldn't explain this post too clearly. blush.gif

If we never experience suffering,we will never appreciate the good times in life.

It's like if you spoil a child, they will never be happy with what they have because they will always want and demand more without working for it or being grateful for it.Why should God create happiness for us.It's up to us to improve our lives and our world.People mug, people hurt and people kill so people should change thier ways not God.

Ha! That's great, I like that.

Bad things happen because we live in a world where we collectively experience the consequences of our (all humankind's) actions. We are seperated from God by our rebellious nature; we think we know better so God has in effect given us the chance to prove ourselves. The idea that God is Winnie the Pooh is held by many, "If God is real then everything should be hunky dory and the way I think it should be all the time."

The enemy of God, the devil or Satan as we call him, has been allowed to have entrance into our lives, minds, biology/DNA, and the everyday goings-on of the world. He is called "The Prince of the World," in the Bible. Since we have rebelled against God who only wished that we should live in joyous commune with Him, and He does not wish us to live a way that we don't want to, we have each been given a lifetime here on Earth to choose which way we want to go. Because Satan rebelled against God, he understands our rebellious nature very, very well and knows how to get to us. God does not want anyone in His final kingdom to be there, that doesn't want to be there, so we have a choice.

Death and sickness are allowed into the world through our disobedience, it gives the enemy a chance to destroy God's creation and plant doubt in our minds. Also, he just takes pleasure in perversion, and death, because it is the opposite of what God wants to give us. He has been given by God the ability to test us and find those among us who would follow wickedness. We can not say that God forces us into anything. I believe free radicals are one example of his desire to screw with creation, being allowed to manifest itself.

It seems unfair that children die prematurely of sickness. It IS a perversion of God's plan for us. But as I often point out to atheists who are uncomfortable with the idea of God killing anyone, God kills everyone, eventually. If He didn't, we would all live forever, right? It is the devil, the enemy of God, who kills us before God would have us end our earthly lives. He created us all for very long lives, I believe at the time of creation, food was more nutritious, there was no hole in the ozone layer, water was clean, etc... in other words, there were no natural dangers. Cancer and leukemia and such were not there originally.

Because we give the enemy entrance into our world and minds, he and his legions of demons (other rebellious, fallen angels) are able to effect changes to our lives that God did not originally place there. It IS unfair that children die of cancer, but Satan is the father of lies, and when we let him in to our minds and hearts, he does things that he didn't warn us that he would do. He lies to us. And we let him. But the joke is on us, because if we worshipped God purely instead of letting our own enemy have dominion over us, we wouldn't experience the things we do. The devil is a liar, and a mocker, and gets one over on us by satisfying our desire to rebel against God, but the access we give him to our environment is not something he warns us about when he speaks in the back of our mind and offers to give us what we want.

I normally do not force thoughts such as these on anyone... but you were asking so.....

If you have any questions, or if I completely freaked you out and you're like wtf?, please pm me if you would like, my office door is always open, haha.

He's bored and feels like sending those children to hell. (never properly accepted christ as their savor so they burn forever in the lake of fire!)

QUOTE

'Cause that one bad thing that happened with Adam and Eve doomed all of humanity with sin so god takes great pleasure in holding a mafia style grudge against the entire family, so he in a sense spends all his free time torturing innocent people because of something that happened around 10,000 years ago.

QUOTE

We have video games, god has earth. Enough said.

QUOTE

Because if there is a god, you have to accept he doesn't care about you and he just simply hates you. That's why he allows those things to happen and when he's bored, he commands those awful things to be wreak upon humanity in the sickest of ways.

Oh, I'm not a believer. I'm an ex-believer.

Yeah.. because those people who are born, live a short, miserable life eating food out of trash cans, and die in pain... really would've gotten too demanding if they were given the basic essentials to support life. rolleyes.gif

Anyway here is my view:

Good things happen, and bad things happen. They happen without any special patterns behind them, and often good things make way for more good things, just as with bad things. I know that I live a better life than alot of the world, and I'm lucky for that. And a lot of those people who I live a better life than pray, and ask God for help. Looking at all the ups and downs in the world, gives clear indicaton of random outcome IMO.

I believe that God is synonomous with the Self. God is consciousness identified with it itself and not with the "I- thought" or "I am the body".
