Humanity is definitely the cruelest species of all.

I am with you on this, MissMelsWell, I am torn. While animal testing can be useful it can also be cruel. The reason for diabetes was discovered through experiments with dogs and they were use to develop and effective treatment. How many people have been saved through the development of insulin. The same causes for diabetes in humans are the same in dogs and cats. We are after all an animal.
But to take a rabbit and put it in a stocks and hold its eyes open its until its eyes ulcerate or it brakes its own neck trying to get away, so you test makeup on it is cruel and should be baned. There is a lot of things humans do to animals in food production that is unbelievably cruel. To cause pain needlessly to save money or just to see what happens or anything else is not justified. There are ways to experiment now a days were it is not needed to harm animals or cause them great pain.

I agree darkwind... the irony is that now thousands of dogs and cats are also being saved by the very insulin treatment they helped develop.

I dunno, I am still torn. Really really am. I agree with your position on animal cosmetics testing ... it's cruel and stupid. Cosmetics can be made from ingredients we know are safe, no need to find other alternatives which require testing.

I can't even use conventional makeup, irritates my skin. All that makeup is bad for you, poor animals. I am still not for it, I am not ok with any form of animal abuse~

Then I take it that you are a strict vegan and have nothing leather at all? That you wear no wool? Just trying to see how deep that runs. There are very few if any medications that haven't been tested on animals. They all were at some point. Some medications even contain animal by-products.
The Three Ventriloquists
This is rediculouse we are biochemically simmilar to animals and no matter how many times you say we aren't Kaylee we are. I'm against animal testing in cosmeticsbut if its used to save or keep a human from pain then let those little scientists go wild.

Kaylee, I agree with you 100%. If I had cancer or AIDS I would never ever want them to experiment on animals so they could find a cure for my disease or cndition. Although I do seek medical attention when I need to, if I had the choice whether to treat a condition and have them experiment with animals, or have my condition continue to possibly death, I choose the latter.

You, your mother and grandmother seem like very compassionate people.
QUOTE
Same, I couldn't be ok with hundreds of little animals having to suffer with what I suffer just because they don't want to look for a cure some other way ( and of course there are other ways)

I doubt that highly if you had a disease only cureable through animal testing you would be jumping up and down and pounding your fists on the table for. It's not your fault it's human nature to value humans lives over animal ones. BTW say idf a bear attacks and kills your entire family and feeds them to its cubs would you report it?
