Semir Osmanagic is a highly controversial man, who has many ludicrous claims. His most recent claim being that there are pyramids in Bosnia. He states that he has discovered passages and tunnels under the supposed pyramids, in which someone has recently added false writings. The only thing that he has to substantiate his claims, is the fact that a man named Ali Abdallah Berekat (Barakat), stated that they found a "white building material, that must have been made to keep the stones together, and make walls. hmm.gif He has been quoted as saying many things that are anything but true. The credible Archeologists, that Mr. Osmanagic claims agree with him, deny even ever going to the Bosnian Pyramids. Mr. Osmanagic has also stated that the Sun Pyramid is 722 feet high, 230 feet high, and 328 feet high. He also feels that when the "excavation" is complete, it will "break a cloud of negative energy, allowing the Earth to receive cosmic energy from the centre of the galaxy".

After reading all of the claims that these Bosnian pyramids exist, I must say that it's far more probable a hoax, then the "find of the century". I have searched for credible footage of the inside of the tunnels, and have found nothing convincing. I would love to hear all aspects of the topic though, maybe there is "evidence" that I have overlooked. I do realize that there is another thread on this subject, but much of it was off topic. All factual evidence found on this subject is greatly appreciated. I'm interested in learning as to what makes Mr. Osmanagic feel these hills are actual pyramids.

sorry for misspelling century blush.gif

I think the pyramids are a natural formation...

Analyzing aspects of Semir Osmanagic's claims of "man made" pyramids, blocks and pavements. Dr. Schoch could not find any evidence of man made ancient ruins that would be supportive of an ancient pyramid thousand and thousands of years old; only recent modern man made structures or ruins from previous cultures, possibly dating back to the Roman era and/or medieval times

Also, the inscriptions, the letter E on the famous rock that as found in the tunnels. Well, sorry to tell you this, but those inscriptions were not in the tunnels on that rock initially, I spoke many times with the geologist who first entered those tunnels and found the rock and was in the tunnel many times – those inscriptions were never there, then one morning they just showed up. Now there are more. So, the inscriptions that are on that rock are not true. I hope for the people who thought and wished them to be evidence of some ancient language understand that I am not trying to hurt any one, I am telling the truth. There has been many deceptive happenings here I have become aware of through my investigations.

I agree airika, it too have come to the conclusion that it is most likely a hoax. (Bosnian Pyramid Website link)
I made a visit to the Bosnian Pyramid website and I have to say, that most of the "evidence" they have displayed is seriously lacking credibility and unconvincing as support for their theory.

The only thing I found remotely interesting and mysterious were the stone spheres. In the link provided above, there is a section titled Bosnian Stone Balls . In the 20 May 2006 entry, writer Ahmed Bosnic is reported to have "visited the village of Ozimici and found a significant concentration of the stone balls found across Bosnia. He was in the company Dr Aly Abd Barakat , Egyptian geologist (Egyptian Mineral Resources Authority. ), who confirmed that the balls were a manmade rather than natural phenomenon."

Does anyone know if the people mentioned in this quote from the website are legitimate?

I hadn't really looked into this Bosnian Pyramid phenomenon, but this peaked my interest and I've looked at various sites online:

Wiki

National Geographic

Archaeological Institute of America 1

Archaeological Institute of America 2

and browsed the links others have provided.

The conclusion I have come to is that Mr Osmanagic is incorrect in his assumptions. The release of information regarding 'discoveries' at the excavation (such as the 'discovery' of skeletal remains) followed by the rapid retraction of the publication when queried by archaeological/geological authorities leads me to believe that proper scientific process is not being followed with regards the 'pyramid' dig.

Abusing the reputations of other scientists by linking their names to the project when in fact they have taken no part in it is another indication that Mr Osmanagic has no real evidence and is attempting to validate his theory by association with respected figures in the archaeological and geological fields. Mr Osmanagic's reputation for rather far-fetched theories (he theorised the Maya were/are descendants of Pleiadian extraterrestrials) also diminishes his credibility.

In mitigation I would say all the online articles I have found (apart from the project website itself) are quite old - at least 6 months - so some of the criticisms they carry may have been answered by recent findings.

The general area of the excavation is known to contain many archaeological sites (from much later dates than those espoused by Mr Osmanagic for the pyramids) and it is possible some of the pyramid 'finds' are actually remnants of undiscovered remains from this later Bosnia-Herzogovinian history. It would be tragic if Mr Osmanagic's futile excavations were to irretrievably destroy some of this heritage.

Wxperts have said that it will take 5 years to gather enough evidence to prove or disprove the pyramid ,, so only 4 more years to wait, im looking forward to the outcome regardless of what it is.

I think, that Mr. Osmanagic may be getting a bit ahead of himself by claiming that this is a pyramid, and then going ahead and naming it the "pyramid of the sun".

O.K. These are the facts as I see them.
1. This gigantic 700 foot high hill is undoubtably pyramid in shape. I have looked at all the photo's I could find, both old and new, plus the satelite images. It is definetly pyramid shaped. This in itself does not prove it is an artificial structure, however, such a regular shape is very rare in nature.

2. The images of the tunnels, look exactly what you would expect an old mine shaft to look like. I didn't see anything in the photo's of the tunnels that would convince me that they were there before, and were not simply dug into the hill to create the appearance of pre-existing tunnels.

3. The excavation at the "base" of the "pyramid" is not proof either, it could very well be that some structures were built there in ancient times which have since been covered over.

If however, this hill is in fact a pyramid, it would probably be the largest artificial structure on the Earth. If I were doing the research, I would probably start by bringing in a team with ground penatrating radar, or sonar and do some scans. That at least would tell me if I was on the right track or chasing a dead duck.

I am not sure what to make of this "pyramid", but, the photo's of it are really cool, and if it turns out to be of natural origon... Well, it's still cool.
I think I am going to watch this story develope.

Good Journey.
