Hey everybody, just posting a topic! Today, while I was thinking about weird and paranormal things that occurred to me in the past, a particular event crossed my mind. It happened quite a few years ago, I can't even remember when.. around when I was six or seven. Anyway, I remember pounding at the door to get out of my room (it was around 6:00 in the morning, when my mother woke up.. the sound of her getting into the shower next to my room would wake me up). My parents had a hook on my door to prevent me from getting out and running around the house during the night and stuff. But, anyway... to the point I go!
It was around 6:00 AM in the morning, and I had just woken up. I hopped out of bed, and rushed to the door and began to bang the hell out of it because I didn't like being in my room when I was awake. My mother had yelled "Just a minute! After I'm done in the shower I'll let you out!". Ten minutes had passed, and I was still waiting. As I was almost ready to go back on my bed to wait, I saw something jump out of the pile of teddy bears in the corner of my room, and run towards me... and grab my shoulders. It reminded me of a giant frog type of thing, and it was really scary. After it grabbed my shoulders, it ran quickly back and hid in the pile of teddy bears. I went to check it out, and nothing was there.
The funny thing about it is, it's the only time that it ever happened... and I have not seen that 'monster' any time since then. What do you think it could have been? A demon? I don't know, all I know is... it scared the **** out of me, and I still remember it clearly to this day.

Yea sounds a little far fetched to me. But I will take your word for it. So looked like a frog you say. Did you get a good look at this or was it out of the corner of your eye. It doesnt sound like it would be a demon from what you said.

So, 10 minutes had past (how could you be so sure) while you were waiting, where ?? At the door ?? Then you thought you'd go back to bed and wait some more ?????
So, a giant frog type thing jumps at you and grabs you and scares the hell outta ya
BUT YOU STILL WENT TO CHECK IT OUT !!!!!!

Young children often have a very difficult time differentiating between dream and reality. My bet would be that you actually dreamed all of it, but it seems like a memory.

Maybe imangination fueled by the fear from being locked in his room. I'm not saying you didn't see the frog AB, but at that age it could have been your imagination. And everyone knows that at 6 imagination can be a very scary thing. At least mine was,lol

Yeah, I was a very brave six year old.. scared of "aliens", but still a very brave six year old when it came to ghosts. And it wasn't just out of the corner of my eye kind of thing.. I actually WATCHED the frog-like creature from its backside, as it ran right back into the pile of teddy bears. I wasn't that scared, because I didn't mind that much to be in my room in the morning..

First of all, I don't know if it's just me, but I think that is hilarious that you would get locked in your room everynight! "just let me finish taking a shower hunny, then i'll let you out of your
CAGE"
I'm curious, did you wet the bed often? Cuz where else would you be able to go...? Personally I would have like taken a sh*t on the floor just to pay back my parents for locking me in. Then when they came in screaming at me I'd be like "Didn't want to go in my bed.... couldn't get to the bathroom...."
But maybe I wouldn't cuz I doubt as a six year old I'd have that thought process.
As for the "frog creature", pure early morning imagination/dream.
I used to "wake-up" as a child to find monsters dancing in the hallway, casting shadows into my room. Then, I would actually wake up.
Since I'm taking the trip down memory lane I used to be scared to look out my second story bedroom window at night for fear of seeing the faces of angry giraffes, elephants, and other circus animals staring in at me.
Children have pretty wild imaginations....

If you have only viewed the creature once I would put it down to an active imagination. I myself at a young age (can’t quite remember when) dreamed that my attic was filled with toys. I greatly mourned the fact that I had no way of getting up there and my parents where not very supportive of their young child’s wish to go frolic up in the rafters.

Maybe you fell back asleep and had a dream. Or maybe you just imagined it. With it being that long ago and it hadn't happened previously or after the fact. I believe in alot of stuff, but this one I think was an imagination gone wild. Probably caused by the fact that your parents locked you in your room like an animal. But that is a different issue that I have some serious problems with. Anyways.

When I was younger, I had chronic lung conditions... so, for them it was for my best to keep me in my room, because I would run around too much and get myself out of breath.

Mar 23 2007, 09:06 PM
I cant get over the fact your parents locked you in your room at night. Specialy with the lung problems. What if you quit breathing and couldnt get to them for help? What if there was a fire? If you did get out and run around enough to upset your lungs I'd think you would have made noise enough to wake them so they could just put you back in bed. Anyway as for the frog thing I say either imagination, a dream, or this whole thing is made up. Just my opinion though.

I don't think that's silly at all. I actually had an experience like that as a child. I was never grabbed or anything but it was scary as heck. We were staying at a friend of my mother's, I was about 6. I was put to bed in the back bedroom and it was still fairly bright outside. Something told me to look out the window. I went to the window and this green lizard-like thing came running out of the shrubs to the window. It looked at me and ran right back. Since then, I have always had an aversion to anything reptile looking. I had always chalked it up to an overactive imagination.... but if you had the same experience...weird. What exactly did it look like? Suckers on fingers? Did it have teeth?

That's funny...my eldest son said he used to see a weird lizard-like thing crawling up the walls when he was younger. He'd see it out of the corner of his eye for a second, and then it would crawl up the wall and disappear.
He's now 17, and still maintains that he saw this thing. I never knew what to make of it. He's a very serious-minded kid and wouldn't make this up.

Im very quick to believe things like this because I know there are a lot of things we cannot explain. A friend of mine just recently told me of a time she was at home when this green thing that kind of looked like gollum from lord of the rings crawled out of the kitchen and looked her in the eye, then down the hallway and disappeared. Ive also witnessed something like that, only it was small and white and I only saw it in the reflection of my TV.

Some people believe that "spirit" animals can be our totem, sort of like a guard, for individuals--like an animal guardian angel. Did this scare you or comfort you?

It could've been that when you saw the frog entity you had just woken up and were still partially in the astral state. I can describe things I've seen while in that state and I had just woken up. Just a thought.

Im not sure if the frog thing was imagination, a dream or real but it brought back a memory from years ago. Me and my mate were staying overnight at another friends. I didnt like staying there as they all dabbled in black magic/devil worship (not sure of the correct term for what they messed about with) We (me and my mate) were top and tailing on the sofa in the living room, it was pretty late and we were chatting quietly, the lights were out but there was a street light outside the window so the room wasnt completely dark. for some reason I looked at the chair to the right of the sofa and nearly had a heart attack, I saw what I can only describe as a fat, squat frog shaped thing. It was pretty big as it filled the chair, it was black as ink so i couldnt really see any texture or form on its body and it had tiny red eyes. I dived under the duvet, quickly followed by my mate. She yelled 'omg did you see that?' I told her what I saw and she confirmed she had seen the same thing. When I finally plucked up courage to peep out of the duvet it had gone. I was about 16/17 when this happened and as we both saw it I cant see it being imagination or a dream. Maybe it was some sort of shared hallucination or maybe it was really there?

Interesting... Reptillian beings? Wonder what are they? So far I never had anything strange like this happening to me.
Since you were a bit young, you could have imagined it a bit. Never really heard of a green frog looking monster poppin’ out from a pile of teddy bears. I’d say it’s your call, believe what you want. I’d just try to forget about it, then it won’t bother you. Pretty interesting though, thanks for the heads up.

:
Sounds like you used to live in my old house when I was a kid. We had a dog there too that would walk through walls and stuff. Supposedly he guarded the basement door so what was down there couldn't come up stairs. The door to the basement was said to rattle like someone was trying to open it when noone was down there. The grownups talked about it. (It was supposed to be the old man that used to live there before). Did you ever see it walk through a wall or anything or pet it?

My daughter would see aligators in her room and in her dreams. She couldn't talk right so it sounded like elevators. She was having alot of stress dealing with my ex's and my divorce. My brother who beleived in alot of paranormal stuff sprinkled salt around the room and made her a bottle with salt water in it to take care of the "spirits" Cured her fear and her dreams. She remembers them still. That is a method used often now for childhood monsters, by the way, Monster Spray, simply fill a spray bottle with some herbs of choice and water ( to make the spray more mysterious and real to the kid) and tell them it's to get rid of the monsters. If you got kids with fears this may help. The salt was supposed to get rid of evil spirits.

It's probably hallucination. But there's another remote possibility. This frog has never happened. It is one of your eerie childhood dreams. However, some later experience/hint persuades you into believing it, since this is something taking place so long ago!
