If there is a more advanced race out there somewhere, do you think they could possibly have or be able to develop cures to such diseases and stuff, such as cancer, aids, std's, ect.

The answer is no. Any species that developed on another planet would not have the same genetic make up as ourselves, and therefore, would not experience the same maladies as humans.

I think that it may be more likely that they have not yet, but would be able to.
The idea of an anvanced race is that they are advanced - meaning more so than us.
They could research us, then come up with an cure.
That would be if they existed, however.

But what i mean is, say they came to our planet, we somehow came in contact with them and told them about our incurable diseases, do you think, if they wanted to, they could develop a cure for us?

Excluding all the big IFs, then it's reasonable to assume that alien race with advanced technology could help develop cures for human diseases.
Just remember, this all falls under the category of speculation.

I don't see the point in questions like these. No one knows, you have as good an idea as anyone else in the world.

Nobody can say they know for sure but i think there is definitley a large possibility. You have to consider for one the size of our universe and then how far we have come with medical science. If we have become this advance just think about other civilizations that have perhaps been around longer than we have and the discoveries they may have made. Technology is advancing all the time and i do believe there are way more technicly advanced species out there who have more knowledge of science and the universe than we have.

I've heard of people suffering from different physical conditions related to the bones or muscles... and, after they had an experience with an extraterrestrial being, their problems were fixed up.

Yeah, I have also heard of different medical exminations/treatments being associated with abduction.
I myself have a phyisical (muscular) condition so i certainly would not mind an experience like that...lol

I, too, have a physical condition.. although it has nothing to do with my lungs. I still wouldn't mind an experience like that!!

C'mon....like those aliens are gonna follow that BS Star Trek Prime directive......that would explain why they havn't shown themselves, but still, If all the conspiracy theories are true, they already have intervened, fiber optics is supposedly reverse engineered tecnology that we found in a crashed alien craft. Anyway, I don't think we should use their medicine. This makes me think of an episode of Stargate SG1 called 2010 in which the "Ashin" posed as the saviors of humanity by helping them defeat the Goa'uld and giving them great technology. They never explained it or let humans use their computers. Basically it was like supremacy. Humans were kept in the dark and they accepted it because they considered themselves inferior. Anyway, they made an anti-ageing vaccine to extend the human life time to 200 years, but it made everyone who took it sterile. So in a couple centuries they would have earth to themselves. I think as soon as we establish contact with aliens we need to make it our top priority to put them into submission one way or another.

I think that diseases are meant to be here, to keep the population under control... Think if there were no diseases, the population would go totally out of control. Same with tobacco and booze.

I certainly wouldn't waste time waiting for aliens to come down here and try to cure us of our illnesses, there's no saying that they could anyway.

Last time I checked, most STDs did have a cure: antibiotics. We also have fairly effective treatments for both cancer and AIDS. Why drag in theoretical aliens to solve problems when we're doing it ourselves?

Here is a BIGGER IF - what IF we did and they carry a virus we have no imunity too?? Then what?? Remember that happened a lot here on Planet Earth in the early colony days.
There is a very good likely hood they could/might carry something like the 'common cold' to us - but be seriously deadly!

obviously that must not apply to the cultural evolution of a human species... otherwise you wouldn't be telling people about the Commonwealth, and they wouldn't be launching attacks on humans in Afghanistan...

Dont you think that population already is out of control? With over 6,500,000,000 people living on earth today. How much more can there be?

Depends. If they are the sort that have evolved to the point where they have litteraly "become" pure energy - able to transform themselves at will, then most likely any disease whatsoever would have no effect whatsoever on them, since physically based diseases affecting an organic body would have nothing to "fight" in a luminous body.
So, no.
They would probably be immortal too, or at least extremely long lived - like into the thousands of years old.
