I've noticed today a thread which has registered no views ...yet when i'm in there there are also one or two others there as well.....strangely the thread still shows "no views" ...even when there have been replies to it

Does a thread have to have a minimum amount of views before they register ?

No, thread views aren't updated immediately because of server overload issues. They are re-calculated on a time basis, I think its like every half-hour or so.
