Ok well first of all i started this topic because i didn't see it as being fair for me to discuss my encounters in the other topic about that lady who's having a problem with a shadow, etc.

Now the whole of my mums side of the family is psychic, my uncle reg is a medium, my nan can often see spirits and some times talk to them and my mum is a dorment psychic as she was forced to stop using her gift when she was young.

Now this all started when i moved into a hostel, nothing happened for the first few months then one i night got up out of bed and walked to the mirror for some strange reason i don't know why. I saw my reflection in the mirror then all of a sudden the reflection seemed to slowly "morph" into the face of a woman. The scary thing about it was she was just staring at me.. She had long black and but it was waving slowly as though she was under water her face was paleish looking. After that i don't remember gonig back to bed i just remember waking up suddenky the next morning but i know what i saw was real and not a dream as i hadn't even gone to sleep. Taking into account that this happened about 7 years ago it must have been a very imortant dream for me to remember such detail, if it was a dream which i doubt.

That was the only thing that happened to me in that hostel that i can recall.

A few months later i moved to Derbyshire to be with my ex girlfriend, i was living in a hostel again and had been there for about 5 or 6 months. Any way one night i woke up and i looked to my left and i could see this man of about 5 ft 8 or 9 standing in front of my tv just staring straight ahead.. He had a denimn jacket on, short "bowl" cut hair and he was just standing there so i went under my blankets until it went away. The next day i asked security to check the camera footage for my corridor to see if anybody had entered my room, but i had locked my door so it wasn't very likely anybody could have and they told me that there was nobody entering my room on the camera that night.

I later moved to another room, a flatlet so to say where you cook for yourself and pay for your own electricity.. Nothing happened for a while, then again, one night i woke up to find this male of about 18-19, maybe 19 at oldest, sitting on the bottom of my bed at an angle, just looking at the door, i could see his face at an angle, he was wearing a cap but not a baseball one the other sort, he had his hands crossed between his legs and he was slouching over slightly so again i just went under my blankets but this time i asked it to please leave, and it did, it just wasn't there when i looked again.

A few days later, i again woke up but this time it was so very strange and it scared me... I had a Charlies Angel poster on the wall, but there was no image of Charlies Angels on it.. It had been replaced by a man, torso upwards, and he was clutching his neck, something was grotting him from behind, he'd be leaning forwards slightly then snatch back clutching his neck.. This little sequence repeated over and over and over like a recording being replayed.. It really scared me a lot but i don't know how or why the image on the poster had been replaced by this disturbing playback thing.


A few years later i moved into my friends house but i have only ever seen one spirit there.. It was of a girl about 18 years old sitting on the bottom of the sofa (it was where i was sleeping at the time) she had short blonde hair, kinda frizzley, tied back into a ponytail, she was wearing specs and a dark blue sports t-shirt, again she was just sitting there staring straight ahead.. But this time when i looked at her she slowly turned and looked back at me so of course being scared i went under my blankets saying "will you please leave me alone..." and again it just left me be.

Can anybody tell me if i'm crazy or something because what i am seeing i can describe in great detail, posture, clothing, age, height (when standing up) Why does it only happen to me at night and not during the day? I know it's definately not a dream i can assure you of that.
I also occasionaly have this, i dunno, black object in my room... It has followed me since the 2nd hostel i lived in.. It takes a different form each time, some times it's a rat, some times it's a snake sometimes i can't even define what the hell it is.. But it's so real i jump out of my bed and run to the other side of the room terrified.

Am i crazy?? Since i asked the spirits to leave me be i've not seen any for about a year now but maybe that's because i sleep mostly all night so i don't see anything.

The figures seen do sound like apparitions, on the surface of it.

The thing in the poster... well I've never heard of that before.

I don't really know what to suggest. Have you ever talked to anyone about this - be it a friend, family member, or a GP?

Also, did you ever get any impressions of intent from the apparitions, if that's what they were?

There was no obvious intent they were just there.. Never tried talking to them i was too scared.. I've only told a few people.

Have you ever ever experienced these outside of sleep?

Yes as each time i wasn't asleep when it happened

The thing you called a black object -does it have the ability to change its shape? I saw something like that when I was very young.

Hippi.. Yes it would change into different things, often more than one thing at once.. Black snakes on my bed, something on the floor, it takes many shapes but only living things like animals, some times i can't figure out what it is.

So at the end of the day am i hiluscinating or is this sh** real?

OK, I may have seen the black object thing too. When it takes the form of an animal, is it more like a dark shadow, or does it take on the general appearance of that animal?

It takes on the animals shape but the actual thing itself is jet black.. Blacker than any of the shadows in my room..

Let me tell you something else kinda freaky...

When i was a child my parents would come into my room to check on me after i had gone to sleep and some times they'd tell me that i had been in a trance like state... I spoke of this man, Victorian era wearing a top hat kind of hat.. He had children with him and they were very poor.. And i'd let them play with my toys..

They didn't tell me about this until i was older but i don't remember doin that as a child but i guess if i was in a trance then i wouldn't any way..


So any way does the black thing you saw take on any particular animal shape?

I only saw the black thing once; it was like a snake, only it kept growing longer and longer. It was reaching towards my sister, and when it started at her throat, I jumped at it, but then it disappeared. My sister didn't see it.

I think it sounds like apparations then.

I've seen it many times and a dream does NOT make you jump out of your bed and run to the other side of the room.. Too afraid to switch the light on..

I've found my self running and I mean running out of my bed in my dreams before, and wondering what the hell I'm doing.

I don't wonder what i'm doing.. I KNOW what i'm doing and i know what i'm running from.. There's a difference.. I have seen VERY scary sh** in my dreams and i am talking VERY sinister.. Stuff that would scare the crap out of you 7 times over... I've had to fight to wake myself but i've never jumped out of bed and ran.. So there's a difference..

Chill I believe you and I do think these things have been spirit visits, I was just saying my dreams have had me race out of bed lol

haha, my most bizare one had to be when sleep walking, my mum thankfully heard me leave the house She caught me making my way out to the roadside saying that I had to go and save my sister as she was stuck in the marsh. I don't remember any of it!

edit to say, I wasn't very well, was running a high fever...

Similar thing used to happen to my mum...

All the doors and windows would be securely locked and shut so no way out of the house really.. Burglar alarm and everything. Yet she'd wake up the next day with scratches on her from like a thorn bush or something and blue paint one time...

When she's REALLY ill she can see this Indian girl (as in cowboys and indians) and my mum starts talking in this Indian tongue to this Indian girl.. Never witnessed it myself but my father has many times. She can also astral project when she's really ill..

I can relate to getting up at night to see something- I had one that would shake my leg sort of hard to wake me up. I would lay on my left side.. she'd shake my right leg.. she'd do this quite a bit until finally I realized it was a spook and I wasn't dreaming this- She looked as solid as anybody alive. Her clothes were older style..high neck dress (maybe in the late 1800's or early 1900's)..Her hair was very long, and dark... Her name was Laura..and she died of diptheria.
*Also, when I would sit up quick-like in the bed from fear (this was at first time) she would run with her hands raised above her head still looking back at me, as if I was gonna hit her, to hide behind a chair...*

Very interesting story.. Sounds like a spirit that was very aware of your actions.. How many times did you see her? How did you learn of her name?

Well, not to throw oil on the fire or anything, but that description sounds like elemental activity.
Typically elementals try to imitate existing life forms - usually animals - when they manifest. Their appearances are transitory, however other phenomenon (like poltergeist activity) tend to accompany their manifestations.

Well i don't feel myself slipping into a trance any more, well not that i know of any way..

The first time i recall encounters with spirits was when i was a little older.. About 10 or 11. It was Christmas eve and i was laying in bed at night and all of a sudden i could hear this heavy breathing in my room, like an elderly smoker.. At first i thought it wsa my father playing a prank on me but the door had neither opened 'nor closed so that kinda scared me a little but not much as i couldn't really explain it..

A few years later, again, laying in bed.. I suddenly heard this little girl laughing and run accross my room, although i couldn't hear her footsteps, just the direction it was going in.. Then the noise vanished.. The next day my sister said "hey i heard a girl run accross my room last night.." and since my sisters room was next to mine, my conclusion is that this spirit had ran accross my room, through the wall and accross my sisters room.
I thought it was my sister, who was the same age roughly as the age i presumed to be this girl.. But she was fast alseep and i had no way of hearing her from such a distance so clearly any way.


In regards to the black thing, yes i do believe it isn't fully a spirit but more something i can't explain as i get a different feeling with them things.. Maybe i should leave a mic on all night to see if i hear anything =-/

What about night terrors? Ever been told you had those? That really sounds like what you described--the rushing across the room and being afraid to turn on the light.

Yeh i never turn the light on.. But the strange thing is some how, sometimes, it's actually IN the bed with me under the blankets and i sometimes feel it on my legs at the bottom.. Some times i'll jump out of bed and throw the blankets accross the room in the hope that whatever it is; is still inside them then i'll open the blanket slowly and it's gone.. Very strange.. Some times i even beat the blanket to death! lol

I never fell asleep.. I remember i was playing with this white balloon on my bed, making it static and throwing i up making it stick to the ceiling, i couldn't sleep because it was Christmas eve. Then the balloon trick stopped working so i just stopped trying then 5 minutes later i started hearing it.

If you are really asking for help & not just having us all on as a joke I will tell you to do your research. READ books on such subjects. You sound like a clear case of a medium. I myslef am psychic but am thankful I do not see spirits like you describe. How old are you? I can give you more guidance if you like.
