Sorry, there are no plans to add background music capabilities to any part of the site.

I think it would be neat for profiles. If even possible. Which I'm sure it is. I've been trying to find some way to incorperate that with my site.

In one page there are at least ten poster.

If there is going to music then on our profiles then eventually someone will want customizable profiles and then we would be Myspace.

I don't see a real reason for music on UM. It doesn't anything to do with unexplained mysteries or paranormal happenings nor does it have anything to do with the community communcating to eachother.

You know, there's nothing I hate more than having my music interrupted by someone else's (usually poor) musical taste.

I think background classical music for reading to would be nice, but thats what i have windows media player for. I think there would be alot of arguments over different types/tastes of music aswell



I know feel like starting a new thread with a poll on it now. Im going to resist the urge though

umm. I think a similar question arose earlier asking if we could have Streaming Videos in our profiles. The answer was that such things would be a major security risk to the site as unauthorised Mobile code can be very dangerous, both to the UM server and the computers of people viewing the profile. The same goes for music. It is WAY to easy to harm someones computer with such methods.

Indeed I often wonder why Myspace doesn't have such issues, though I guess they probably do in truth

Not if it's coded correctly, it would be very easy to create a secure BBcode for adding youtube videos. Alas it is still a pointless exercise, so I have to agree with the 'no point' crowd.

Profile music is annoying but it would be nice if we could have larger personal photos.
