Pardon this repost from the sightings and experiences forum, but I decided it would be best if I also posted this in a more active forum. But still, I urge you to read it anyway.

Let me start off by saying that I am an extreme believer in ghosts/spirits and the like, but my friend... he needs a little proof, so he wouldn't be pulling this stuff out of the air. Okay, so on with short, but rather unique story.

~~~~~~
My friend lives in a medium sized house, in a rather old neighborhood. The house seems normal enough when there are people milling about, I've been there on several occasions and it has seemed pretty calm, paranormal wise. But he says that when someone is all alone in the house, they always hear a faint cackling noise. When one actually stops and tries to listen for it, it automatically stops. This cackling cannot be attributed to any children/wind/cars etc. because it has happened on several occasions with several different witnesses. But it only happens when someone is alone in the house. That's not the most interesting part though.
My friend has a tenant living upstairs in his house, a distant relative if you really care to know. This tenant has reported that someone (or something) drinks his bottled water. Now seeing as my friend has brothers, you might be thinking that it's a prank, but hear out the details before you make a judgment. The bottled water that this tenant buys, is normally the boxed 24 pack bottled water that one can find at many a supermarket. The water is always bottled and always packaged in a box. Now, when this tenant goes to grab a bottle, sometimes it's already half empty.... but the bottle is completely sealed. And it's not just one occurance. The tenant has bought several different brands of bottled water, and has always checked them to see if they're full when he brings them home, but after some time, a random bottle will be half empty, yet completely sealed. They have absolutely no explanation for this.
One more incident that seems worthy enough to post about is about my friends brothers PS3. He was all alone in the house and turned it on in order to listen to music. After a while though, the television automatically turned itself off. A power surge? Maybe but why didn't the PS3 turn off? With the other incidents in the house this one has also been attributed to their "spiritual resident."
~~~~~~

My friend and his family aren't really worried, seeing as how this unexplainable "presence" hasn't managed to impose any harm on them at all. I got his permission to post this story, because he (and I) would like to know what most of you experienced people think about it. This is the first I've managed to hear about a water drinking entity, if any of you have any thoughts, comments or suggestions, please, I really urge you to reply so we can see what you think and what can be done about this.

Well some televisions go into "standby" mode if left un-attended for a certain ammount of time so maybe that's why?

In regards to the water there are many solutions... Is the bottle hot when he picks it up? A lot of spirits give off heat onto an object when interracting with it so maybe that heat could have evaporated some of the water.

But the fact that it's happening to the random bottle he's picked up would not suggest it isn't random but selective. Has there ever been any strange happenings such as things going missing, strange smells, knocking, scratching of wood or on a wall?

Hello Denied Gamer,
Welcome to the forum.

Your friends situation seems rather playful. Drinking water and laughter.

A friend of mine used to work at a music store and according to him; he experienced something moving his can of soda when he was alone. One minute it would be on the counter when he was tallying out the money drawer and he would reach to take a drink but the can would be gone and he would think that he had drank it and not worry about it then it would be back on the counter a few minutes later. He never said that the presence drank it though. That and he would hear someone walking in the stockroom when he knew he was the only one in the store. It wasn't anything bad that happened to him but it did unnerve him. LOL!

You might try an inexpensive tape recorder to see if you can capture anything not normally heard. You guys might even sit up a question and answer session for the experiment. Who are you? pause for response. Why are you here? etc.

Hope you keep posting, sounds interesting.
Regards,
Mabon.
