RadicalGnostic
Gnostics have always held that Divinity is both masculine and feminine. We recognize the Divine Feminine as "She of many names". Names like Sophia, Isis, Barbelo, Shekinah, Kwan Yin, Kali and Mary, to name a few.

Peace,

M.N. thank you for sharing this. As to the Melmalaiyanur Temple, what is the significance of the cobra represented arching over the statue? I also noticed something that appears to be a serpent painted on the ground where the fire-walking was later to take place. I am unfamiliar with this belief system. Is this related to the nagas, or some other mystical serpent?
