It's usually from USA. & Europe because the whole 'phenomina' is born from those cultures, i.e. trash t.v. & hollywood.

Hi mum, no im not concerned that she is with a black man (that just happens to be her preference), *Edit:Taken out potentially argumentive sentence for sake of peace.*, i only mentioned it to cut the story down as to why i know a tribal african....we are an understanding family...

My intrest lies in his stories regarding UFO etc, & my question was why there isnt more reports from the african contenant regarding UFO, He himself has described seeing cigar shaped objests moving accross the sky & other phenomenon regarding tribe members being in cantact through astral projection..

apparently the elders in the region believed that there was an underground alien base (of sorts) situated beneath a very large lake in the area, apparently there is a very large cave which goes under this lake, they say the cave formation looks fabricated in comparison to normal caves....which they feel gives there story credibility

this legend goes back about 100 years, but they claim there was frequent activity of flying objects in the area & around that lake.... taking into consideration that flying for humans was well in its infancy 100 years ago makes the story all the more interesting..

then why is there so many ufo's seen in russia and china?....it's because in africa they dont have the technology to record and report as well...
Cold.
Edit: Previous post now been deleted.

Now, with regards to the topic. I think it's really interesting that African tribes have seen UFOs in the sky, had encounters with astral project, and have even been in contact with ETs. I wish we could hear more of these reports from OTHER countries in the East, like Africa, Egypt etc...

So far my searches on the net about UFO or suchlike legends in Chad have borne no fruit. I can quite possibly conceive that there would have been sightings all over Africa, cannot see why there would not have been.

Can you not find out from your daughter's fellow exactly what these legends/stories are lord scrummage?
Syd Boggle
Im afraid he & my daughter are in chad now, so i cant shed much more light on the subject, all i know is the settlment is 80 miles & 131 degrees west of DJEDIDAH, unfortunately i havent spoken to her in 3 months as there are no phone lines there....

hmmm. very interesting. I'll look up Djedidah as well.
:PsYKoTiC:BeHAvIoR:
Maybe they are less reported by Tribesmen because they may see it as deities watching over them. Kind of similar like worshipping the sun, moon, etc. They might see these occurances as normal and probably hail them for religious-type purposes. Different cultures have different beliefs, along with a different way of seeing things.

Well a few reasons...

Because we're an English-speaking country, most of the reports we hear about are from English-speaking countries. However, this is a global phenomenon, many sightings have been reported from Brazil, China, Russia (even during the Soviet years when contact with the west was kept minimal)

On balance, African countries are not as media connected as other countries.

Many cultures accept things like astral projection and encounter with other beings as reality, and don't consider these things as remarkable as we do in the west.

That's not to say stuff never gets reported from Africa, check out this for instance:

Also look up the Dogon tribe and their alleged beliefs

That is such a crock. There are plenty of cases from all over but there's myriad problems in getting the word out. Organization and funding are two. The fact that the vast majority of Earth's population is not even hooked up to a phone let alone the internet is another. Not wanting to give away tribal secrets to whitey is yet another.

Flying Saucers Over Belgian Congo
The Report

African Schoolchildren See Landed UFO and Occupant
(Ariel School Sighting in Ruwa, Zimbabwe)

Summary: On 14th September, 1994, a UFO streaked across the sky over Southern Africa. Two days later, something landed in a schoolyard in Ruwa, Zimbabwe, with three or four things beside it, according to journalist Cynthia Hind. This was witnessed by 62 schoolchildren, who had little or no exposure to TV or popular press accounts of UFOs. Cynthia Hind interviewed them the day after the encounter and made them draw pictures of what they had seen.

UFO lands to repair hole in its hull
(Transvaal, South Africa)

Summary: When a local farmer from Groot Marico in the western Transvaal plains region first observed the saucer-shaped object on Thursday morning, he noticed that it had a distinctly visible hole in its hull. The farmer, Mr. Jan Pienaar (45), is of the opinion that this "vehicle" landed on a remote country road between Coligny and Brakspruit to have its damaged hull repaired. However, his arrival probably prompted the "vehicle's" hasty retreat and rapid ascent into the sky.

Cigar-shaped UFO over Mt. Kilimanjaro witnessed by pilot and passengers

Summary: In 1951 a huge cigar-shaped UFO, which hovered over the famous Mt. Kilimanjaro, was photographed from an East African Airways plane flying in the vicinity, and witnessed by the crew and passengers. After remaining motionless for a considerable period of time, the object suddenly climbed steeply and disappeared. The movie film was developed and reportedly showed a clear and sizeable image of the object, according to the Natal Mercury.

Here is another African UFO report, specifically a humanoid report:

Location. Senghor Senegal
Date: October 21 1974 Time: 2030
Police inspector Felice Ravolo and his wife observed three objects descend and hover over trees just beyond their backyard. One, a cone shaped UFO the size of a large airplane, descended silently 100 feet distant, as the primary witness approached with drawn revolver. At one end of the cone he could see a dark area, possibly a door or port. There was no sound; he could hear no crickets or other natural night sounds. He suddenly saw a figure on the ground beneath the object, behind a picket fence; the being was human in shape, taller and thinner than normal, and appeared to be covered with short, wire-brush like hair. The entity loped slowly across the ground in the direction of the witness, who fired a warning shot; the figure then turned and with 20 foot strides, headed back toward the object, which then descended and engulfed the figure in one of its leaps. The witness fired again as the object ascended rapidly.

There is a very interesting story that comes from Africa in reguards to extraterrestrials interacting with the people of the Dogon Tribe that resides in West Africa.

According to legend, folklore, tribal secrets, or whatever you want to call it, the tribal elders of the Dogon, in keeping with their oral traditions have passed down information reguarding the Sirius star system for generations. In the late 1930' s, two anthropologists Marcel Griaule and Germain Dieterlan, after spending years with the tribe where entrusted with the information that had been kept secret for thousands of years. The anthropologists were astonsihed at what they heard. The tribal elders recited information about the Sirius star system, that by all counts they should not have known. The Dogon elders told them that the Sirius star system is in fact a triple star system, the name for the smallest is "po tollo" (smallest seed). They accuratly described this star as being a very dense (heavy), white star. The Dogon were also able to describe its elliptical orbit with Sirius A at one foci of the ellipse (an accurate description), its orbital period of 50 years (the actual figure is 50.04 +/- 0.09 years), and the fact the star rotated on its own axis (it does). Significantly, The Dogon also described a third star in the Sirius system, which they called “Emme Ya” (“Sorghum Female”), and which contained a single satellite in orbit around Emme.(Interestingly enough, as of 1995 there has been articles supporting the idea of there being a third star in the system, a red dwarf.

Furthermore, the elders of the Dogon tribe explained that the Nommo, came from the Sirius star system, landed their ship in the water and took to land instructing the Dogon tribe of their home across space. After a short stay the Nommo left, vowing to return to earth again.

As I said before, interesting story, not sure on the authenticity of the claims. I guess that is for each person to decide for themselves.

I can only find 1 very large lake called Lake Chad. According to Wiki, it has an average depth of only 1.5 metres but also has a maximum depth of 10 metres.
There are also another 5 lakes......Lake Fitri, Lake Iro, Lake Fianga, Lake Tikem and Lake N’Gara.

I can't seem to find the location of Djedidah anywhere using Google.

Yes im sorry i cant give further details of their location, i also remember being told that this lake is unusually abundant with many type of fish, the elders claim that these beings enriched the lake with self generating minerals...perhaps as a gift to the local tribe... who knows

Anyone can invent statistics. Supposed "alien abductions" are a world wide phenomenon. While it is possible that said phenomenon did originate in the U.S., tales of people being abducted from their beds or along isolated country roads existed in folklore long before we were even a country. I suggest doing your research before insulting large populations of people.

It didn't even originate in the US. The first known recorded abduction (that was recorded as a UFO/alien abduction and not something else) was in Brazil, I believe.

If memory serves me correctly the first "officially" reported case was the Betty and Barney hill, shortly there after the boas case was made public, the confusion stems from the dates of the "experiences" the hills was in 1961, the boas incident 1957.
