Hiya...saw one of these in the garden for the first time ever today...aren't they rare in Britain and especially this early?

Technically, hummingbird hawkmoths are not native to Britain at all. I saw some in Germany a couple of years ago.
Then, slightly fewer years ago, I was in the garden and I realised that there was a hummingbird hawk moth drinking nectar out of the roses. I was gobsmacked. But they're becoming increasingly common in Blighty. It's most likely a by-product of 'global warming.'

I have them, White lined sphinx hummingbird moths, I think?
