On the prowl - the mystery animal caught on camera.

THE Beast of Banff, the mysterious large cat-like creature spotted prowling in the area, has been captured on video.

Now you can see the footage exclusively on the Banffshire Journal’s own website.

The footage comes courtesy of a Banffie reader from the Cornhill area, who does not want to disclose his identity or the exact location of the sighting.

He spotted the beast from his house last summer, crossing a field some distance away. In case the cat came back, he set up a video camera pointing down the field – and yes, the cat did re-appear.

With all the recent publicity in the Banffie, the reader has come forward and given a copy of the footage to the Journal.

But what do YOU think it is? Take a look at the video and you'll see clear footage of a cat of some sort moving in the field – and try to compare it to the size of nearby fenceposts.

You can have your say in The Big Vote. Is it just a big domestic cat – or something much more mysterious?

Take a look at the clips decide if there really is a big cat stalking Banffshire.

It looks like a black puma (mountain lion). I think there was a shooting of a black puma last year in the UK.

I do hope they don't kill them all. They are lovely and unique animals.

Looks like a big housecat to me, but I don't know how tall that fence is.
Urisk
Looks to me nothing much more than a house cat. I doubt that fence is all that big. Maybe a metre in height?

I really wish we had less ABG threads and more of actual cryptids.

I have seen one of those when I was in Mexico, It seems to be about at least 65 to 85 pounds,I wonder if after it was filmed if the guy went to look for paw prints,it would offer some answers to how big it really is.
