Found this video while browsing Google Videos. Well, the title is misleading in that it says Prehistoric Monster when the creatures are really small but do look prehistoric. Does anybody know the name of these little creatures? Close up pictures appreciated. Thanks.

theyre called Triops i believe. they enter a form of suspended animation when stil in their eggsacs, hence why theyve outlived dinosaurs and such. they were sold as pets [like sea monkeys, etc] in educational stores such as the Discovery Channel store in the 90s but i dont know if its been discontinued or not. i had some myself but i was never able to get them to hatch.. =\ but i was 9.

Newsflash. Any species of animal that existed before around 4500 BC is actually "Prehistoric". About the only animals that are not "prehistoric" would be certain domesticated hybrids for the farming and pet industry.

The Triops however have essentially remained unchanged for millions of years even before the dinosaurs. But then, most insects are just as
prehistoric, only they do not look as cool or unusual as these critters.
