When I was seven years old I was playing at my daycare near San Fransisco Calafornia. I picked up a ball and kicked twards some hills just because. then all of a sudden a ball of light about the size of a pellow zoomed past the daycare. It was about twenty feet in the air and the whole thing was shiney even the bottom of the thing where the sun should have been shaded was bright. It had no shadow and it looked like it was going about 150mph. Well anyway this shiney flying pillow thing zoomed right over the daycare and for some reason it flew out to the ocean then stopped immediately then started going right it was still in my range of sight for about three secionds after that. I looked right next to me and there was a girl that went to the daycare standing right next to me looking at the sky where I last saw it. Apparently she saw it to but just to make sure I asked her. She just kept on staring at the spot in the sky where I saw the thing last and nodded her head yes. I have always wondered if anyone had a similar experience and now I have the opportunity to see if they have.
sadistic jellyfish of doom
It was most likely something like a plastic bag being blown out to the ocean. They are very reflective. That's the only thing I can think of besides a midget UFO.

earthchick
Is it possible that it was actually larger than a pillow, but that it seemed small to a child of seven? I mean, when we look at an airplane that is up in the sky, it looks small, but we know it is actually huge. A young child might not be able to distinguish size in relation to the sky and surroundings.

What you saw sounds very much like something my daughter and her boyfriend saw while driving home from a movie at night last summer, along the coast. The only difference is that what they saw was round and descended from the sky to hover a bit above the water before speeding off. It was yellow and glowed brightly in the dark sky.
Cold.

Interesting! Was there any thunderstorms that day, ball lightning is something to consider.
