This morning I had a dream where I took a small card like object and began slashing at my forearms. In the dream I knew I wanted to stop as I stared at the long forming cuts that didn't seem to bleed out, rather have the blood pool up in the wounds, but I couldn't and kept cutting away at the skin until I woke up. When I woke up I was facing my forearms to where when I opened my eyes I was looking directly at them. I was slightly bothered by the thought of my dream because I think it might be a sort of omen.
Does anyone have any sort of idea what this might mean?
Hello Ichigo,
Welcome to the forum.
Most dreams are symbol dreams and cutting is a form of releasing. (Of course if you have ANY thoughts of doing this in real time talk with someone!!!! Ok now that, that is out of the way.) The time of life that you are at is one of the most difficult. People sometime do forget all the pressures that a person has at this age and sometimes though our somewhat imperfect memory 'rose tint' our teenage years. There is a lot of transition that goes on from this time. Not an adult but expected to start making plans that will affect your entire life, (get on the track to either college or a job.) sorting out all kinds of difficult issues.
This dream is mostly about issues/emotions that you feel that you can't release and want to. Like I stated earlier cutting symbolizes release and the blood (something vital and precious) that you want to talk about or get out isn't being talked about.
Start keeping a dream journal and write down what you see in your dreams that way you can go back through them and see if there are patterns or reoccurring dreams. There are a lot of great books and sites on the net that talk about dreams and their symbolism.
Warm regards,
Mabon.
